Thanks, hmm depends which one we;re talking about, re-injured my knee doing kickboxing and had to stop pretty much everything for a while and then had mystery stomach pains that had me hospitalised so I was again told not to do anything too strenuous (everything according to docs) until they had sussed it - they never did! Lol! What run are you aiming to do?

the wolf. ive signed up to do a 10k in may, along with people from work so am going to have to find some good trainers at a good price to start training.

WOW Raphael thats a great time for 4 miles - bet you're super chuffed with yourself :D
I was when I realised I'd run half my weekly total for last week in one go :D

    Well done Raphael.

That was a big step up in distance so well done on completing it. Are you dropping the distance back again later in the week?
Yep :) easing up a bit for the next run, going to do just a 2 miler tomorrow.

im hoping that having a dog which needs a lot of walking will help more too cos she always needs exercise
It's a pain in the butt running with my dog, as she keeps crossing infront of me, or running ahead and pulling on the lead so I can't keep pace (have to keep her on the lead as she chases bikes, cars and lorries ) I don't mind so much on the shorter runs, but certainly not dealing with that for 4 miles  :)

I take the dog out with me at night, no lead and runs either in front, or behind..

More worried about her getting hit by a car or so as she is all black.

Not many people around, just urban foxes..
  • Unfortunately it's all roads where I am, she's bad at recall too if she's spotted something.
She still gets plenty of exercise thou. :)
Get one of these for night runs, I've got one for mine (all black too) they're great :)

    Morning All!

Hayley - yes you go and have your feet measured - most people do, but I know if I did I'm not strong enough to walk away without buying the £100 trainers they recommend ;) - most people have neutral feet and just get on with any old running trainers to start with (if for example you hate it you dont want to have spent £100 on them ;))

I've just bought these (or something very similar - not from this shop):
    http://www.holdall.co.uk/product/20853/289/asics_gel_radience_womens_running_shoe

But before that I had nike running shoes that I picked up at my local sports shop for £50 that have so far lasted me nearly 1000 miles!

Me and Rich did the Fred Hughes 10 a few weeks ago in St Albans - I take it you are doing the 10k?? The organisation was good and the race was a good standard, but the people were really friendly so hopefully the 10k should be good too :D

Well done on your walk Pepper :D

Glad to hear you're easing off Raphael - dont push too hard to start with - gentle runs are just as beneficial :D

JJ - a bit of friendly competition is always good - Chick is right on my heels - it certainly drives me to do better ;)

    Oh yes my intervals :D:D:D

    8:20, 7:35 and 7:40 :D

Okay so the first was taken slowly to make sure I could get round all three - it seems I do have speed in there somewhere - I did take longer than a minute recovery but I actually walked round a lap in between each interval rather than stopping - which seems to work much better for me.

Ooooo I've cracked it - I'd love to get a sub 24 next Saturday

Only one problem - just realised my plan says a 10k time trial today - opps I'll have to move that to Thursday ;)

Well done becky!!! They look like pretty fast times to me!

I will be heading out for a run this evening - I have 2 hours to kill while DS is at a football match, so once the crowds have gone into the ground I will go and run round that area........I'm not necessarily intending to run for the full 2 hours, but I should get a reasonable number of miles in......

    Happy running everyone!

Good luck for tonight Hypno and well done on those intervals Becky.
Legs are feeling absolutely fine this morning but really must have a rest day...(unless my garmin arrives and I feel the need to test it out :) )
I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

    Hehe I knew we'd get there eventually!:p :p

And not only have you got there, you've run them perfectly!

Full pace should be roughly 15-20 secs quicker than your Leeds 5K speed and, hey presto, what have you done?:D :D

Forget the time trial, it has no purpose at the moment!
