Thank everyone. It was a tough one today. Really warm, must have been mid-20's. Very humid. I was cruising along until about 15-16 miles, then had a wobble between 17 and 18. Then it was a real struggle all the way. I'm sure it was all down to the conditions, and 30% cobbles doesn't help!

The published results are the gun times, but our chip times are 4:36.27 (me) and 3:42.05 (OH).

Thanks again for all your congratulations. I have a lovely t-shirt and a nice heavy medal. I'll post a pic of it when I get home.

Thats even better then - 5 minutes quicker than we thought!:D:D

Well done on sticking it out - 9 miles is a helluva long way to struggle so must have taken quite some resolve.

You sound pretty happy with the outcome and so you should after settling for 'just getting round' earlier in the week.

How is OH viewing the result? I know he has done 3:06 previously but this must have been extremely satisfying considering he had to pull out of London and had a serious mysterious injury not too long ago!

It was rather hot for the first 10 miles of the run but cooled off a bit (thankfully) in the second half.

The route was 8 laps of Battersea Park plus there and back so was a nice flat course which makes a pleasant change for once!:D:D

    PS What's wrong with S Club 7?

PPS Becky would just like to say that she is not ignoring the thread but she is not really feeling very well at the moment. The NHS have sort of diagnosed exhaustion as the problem, it certainly isnt any disease of the piggy variety, so a bit of rest and she'll be back to annoy everyone again!;)

Nothing wrong with S Club 7 per se...(it is on my ipod after all:rotfl:) but not for an hour!

Becky - you be careful and listen to your body! I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue two years ago and pyschologically it was very hard to come to terms with. Every time I tried to convince myself I hadn't got it and do too much it knocked me back again.. Try to go with the flow and rest when you can.

Hit the post butten too soon.
I always start each day committed then sabotage it in some way, just like the money thing etc...
So with support I am going to do this, I will acheive my goal..
I will start an hour at a time. Slow I know but my goals sometimes overwhelm me as they are so big.
I will exercise three times a week. Walking to start with(pram pushing).
Will eventually build up to a run. Don't know how far-haven't run for years but want to change my life starting today....This is a real big one.
