Hi everyone
Looking for some advice from you experienced runners. Do you think I could be ready for a half marathon on 26 July? Also, is there a particular website you would recommend do get a training plan from? Thanks
Hi Scorgeous, it depends where you are starting from. If you have some good running fitness under your belt, it is perfectly possible. There are 11 weeks to go, so it would be possible to build your endurance to be able to have a go at this distance.
If you have never run before, it will be a challenge, depending on your existing level of fitness and general activity at the moment.
There are others on this forum who do some great running plans. I'm not one of them, but someone will be around soon I'm sure, who can help with this.
In the meantime, have a look on the internet. there are loads of half marathon training plans out there.
Good luck, I hope you enjoy your running and complete your half marathon!Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Proper decorum:
1) Sprint fast, as fast as you possibly can
2) Get round the corner
3) Dive into a bush and be *really quiet* until he's gone past
4) Resume running as usual
...and don't think I'm joking!!
You've forgotten one or two intermediate steps before the 'Running As Usual':
4) Old lady notices panting noise coming from bush.
5) Old lady rings nice policemen to investigate.
6) Idio gets handcuffed and carted off to nearest police station.
7) Idio promises to be a good boy in future and not to do any more activities involving panting in public bushes.
8) Purple faced Idio resumes running as usual.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Yeah, that sounds about right, actually
Anyway, did another 7 at lunch today, longest run so far in the new shoes. Feeling fine, generally, as little wobbly, but think that was more down to the quick 18 mile bike ride yesterday than it was the shoes.
Still 50/50 on whether I should get some sorba-wotsits for them. Could it hurt?0 -

This weekend a neighbouring town has a lovely 10k sponsored run or walk across the North Downs. People are already sponsoring me generously for the Race for Life next month and I can't ask people to sponsor me for this. The event is to run/walk for a charity of your choice. Do you think it would be alright to tag along?
You probably can as long as you dont cross the finish line0 -

I do the charity runs but don't get sponsorship....I would have no friends left if I did....Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Blimey Becky, I'm not surprised that you're 'a bit tired' after what you managed to cram into the last two weeks. You deserve a rest. Enjoy!
Just been on metcheck to get a forecast for Prague. Sunday will be fair/cloudy with 16-20mph winds. True temperature between 4-7 degrees, but feeling like -1 to +2 because of the wind. I think I'll run in leggings then....
I'll update you as soon as I can, but I'm sure the results will be on the website before I get back to update. If you're interested, my number is F431. I don't think there will be online tracking though.
