Uk,
Its 10 miles at whatever speed that your body was happy to go at - therefore its good, another 10 miles in the bank.
Its impossible to run training runs as time trials day in, day out...it wouldn't make any sense anyway. Just let your body go with the flow.
As a direct comparison with what you're looking at, I did 10 miles in 1:17:03 this morning. Two weeks ago the same run took 1:12:53. On both occassions I set out with the same intention, and the same effort level, but came back with quite different results. Thats just how it is - run to the effort level, not the clock!:D:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

A big book if I remember rightly - he still has the ones from when he first started running ages ago0

The weather is great where I am now for running
Did a few miles last night. Off for another few now...0 -
Hehe Yep, it's all on a spreadsheet.
Every build up involves taking what you've done before and then trying to improve it some way by coming up with a theory and then seeing what happens if you put it into practice. Without all the info it would be too much like flapping in the wind.:p:p
Becky - the book was for training in 1985, the average bod didn't know what a spreadsheet was then, let alone have access to one.;)Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Do you think I might have a copy of the set up, formula etc (obviously don't need your data) as Ive tried to do one myself and its pantsI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

I was 3 then what do I know
I dont use a spreadsheet - just my records on here and my weekly totals which I keep for my 2,500 in 2009 challenge0 -
Well there isn't any formulas, Sally. In fact, I'm not really using many spreadsheet functions - just using it as a database.
The information is just what I post on here with totals of mileages etc, but nothing more than that is needed for my purposes.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Hi gang :hello:
I've been reading about your running exploits for a while and I feel that it's about time I shifted myself and started doing some myself.
So, I think I'm right in thinking that the way to go is by starting off with walking and then by running, rather than the walk/run/walk plans.
Next step is to get some new trainers, my family think I'm mad by even mentioning the idea of having my gait analaysed :rotfl:Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0
