About 80ish in a full week.

There is a theory, which is probably correct, that running with cushioned shoes is making knees weaker.

Shock absorption without the 'sponginess' of running shoe soles is basically what you get from Sorbothane, which is why I dont mind wearing shoes until they're virtually falling apart - it all works towards strengthening the ligaments around the knees.

Becky you're not the only one struggling, my knees have well and truely given up and thinking I might have to have a week off to fully recover. Off to elevate, and ice and take some ibuprofen!

Waiting for the Results from Rich's run.....

    Week 3/21 (Fleetwood)
    Mon4/5 Rothwell 10K 39:10 (6:18/mile) + 3Miles WU/WD
    Tues5/5 Rest Day
    Weds6/5 10.0 Miles 1:17:03 (7:42/mile) (Pulse 98)
    Weds6/5 Spencers Arms Dash 3.7 Miles 24:20 (6:35/mile) (18th) + 3Miles WU/WD

Can't complain at that run. It might look relatively slow compared to Monday's run for instance but this is a very hilly course so quite happy with that pace for the time being. The comparison with last month is:

    April : 24:46 (6:42/mile)(posn 31st)
    May : 24:20 (6:35/mile)(posn 18th)

Interestingly it felt far better today, stronger and more controlled, after running 10 miles this morning than it did last month on fresh legs in the taper week coming up to Blackpool. Very encouraging!:D:D

There's some good running gone on here today! Also to say good luck for the Prague marathon chickadee - this thread races along (sorry :o) so I might not get the chance to catch up and post before you leave.

So guys I have booked a place in the Race for Life in Doncaster on 28th June, so have my first milestone (LOL) to aim for. Have told everyone now of my plans, so have got to follow it up with the goods - wow I feel great!!!

Had a stroll with dog tonight, 3 miles according to mapmyrun, so happy with that, the dog will be a skinny minny before long.

Back to the running tomoro yay!
