Well done Rich on the run - it must be hilly since you've lost over 4 minuts of your pb there :D

Ah the old footy knocks JJ - I hated that - it takes ages for the stiffness to go away from it ;)
  • Glad to see Rich doesnt get a PB on every race shows he is human after all.

Nah - its 4 days to marathon - no point ruining that time by going all out on a 3.7 mile race ;)

So what are your's and Jonathan's revised targets for Prague, taking into account the injuries/lost training etc?

Hi there, Well, Jonathan will be happy with 3:45 (well, he won't be happy but he thinks this is realistic.) I'll be happy with 4:15. I was hoping for sub-4 but I don't really think this is a goer this time. 4:15 is my pb so if I can equal or maybe even slightly beat it I'll be over the moon.

Went out tonight for my scheduled 10-miler (1:36), which was a really enjoyable run. Strangely, I noticed the downhills more than the ups and was really able to enjoy them but the uphill sections just came and went. Its usually the other way around.

My garmin was reading almost 10 miles as I ran into my road and I had just caiught up with my neighbour as it clicked up 10.00, so I hit the stop button and walked down the road with her and we had a little chat. As we got to my house she asked how far I had just run and when I said "Oh, just 10 miles" she nearly fell over! He he, don't you just love being a runner?

(Rich, you were, as always, correct. I love running again! :p )

    Has everyone seen this?

I hope the forum isn't down too long on Sunday, we need to find out how Rich & Becky got on in Blackpool! How annoying, we'll miss the big race build-up too. Oh well, I expect it will make the forum better in the long run.

(I did check the date of the original post just to check it isn't an April Fool that I fell for!)

Only 4.5 miles for me - it is deceptively windy out there, and the wind is very cold, so once I was out on the exposed lanes, it made it tougher than I expected!

So, 4.5 miles will have to do!

I only have a week of running left now - next Friday I go off skiing, then when I get back it will be the week of the FLM.

    HELP!!!!

    Nice one, Chick!

That was a quick comeback - almost as if the word 'bouncebackability' was invented for you.:p

Those targets sound pretty realistic and Jonathan should be chuffed with 3-45 considering the build up injury!

Its easy to get into the mode of thinking 10 miles is just a shortish distance until you get that sort of a reaction from a non runner - great isn't it?:D

Anyway, it looks like Becky got the weather forecasting pretty spot on - the concensus is for a very calm and settled day on Sunday. Yippee.:j :j
