    Morning All!

Chick glad your run was good again - thats some training pace your getting on there - very exciting :D:D

Hypno - out of everyone on here - you know the commitment to train for London and I get the feeling that this time you feel like you havent lived up to that - but honestly ask yourself where could you squeeze any more training in?? You do soo much already I think even getting in what you have has been a real achievement - enjoy your skiing holiday and relax - you've earned it! :D

And you take some comfort from the fact there will be some people lining up who have done far less than you have!! ;)

Hypno, I totally agree with you and Becky, the committment to train for any marathon is one which too many people take with a pinch of salt. I completely understand how you feel and trying to train whilst running a home, looking after children, working and having a bit of you time is virtually impossible! You have done as much as possible and I am sure that on the 26th something in you will keep you going and get you across that line! Like Becky said, there will be people who line up and have done minimal training some of which have done no more than 10-12 miles on a long run

    Morning one and all.:D :D

Well 2 days to go to the big day, but I think I'm feeling more of the excitement of the FLM build up for those doing it than Sunday's race!

Nonetheless I'm really looking forward to it, especially now that the weather is looking spot on - I hope its like today on Sunday, that would be ideal.:D :D

There will probably be a final 10K this evening and then a long sleep, and carbo loading:p , tonight and then we're into race weekend and the final preparations.

Good luck with all the training over the weekend since this placed will be closed.

Thanks guys - sorry to be so miserable......I think I am just tired. I sooo need my holiday! I had a look in my diary and I realised I have not actually had a day off since Christmas - working in one format or another 7 days a week.......no wonder I am tired!

Still, I WILL get round FLM. That is a definite. HOW I get round it will be quite another matter!

But you have the knowledge and experience of having done it before, Hypno, and didn't you say that you've done far more training this time than last, despite the injuries?

If so, it really is just a case of being very easy on the muscles and energy reserves for the first half of the race and you will feel comfortable well into the later stages. A bit of a struggle late on is to be expected, but thats the nature of the challenge as we all know!

Enjoy the holiday - just look at how Chickadee has bounced back fully rejuvenated after a week or so off!!:D :D

I have to say, rich, that going on holiday will be absolutely the best thing for me........and I am very much looking forward to it :D

I was talking to OH about it all on the way in to work, and yes I have done much more of the longer mid week runs than before.....Last time round I would never have dreamed about doing over 5 miles mid week - this time, I have done far more of the 8-10 milers in the evenings. However, I am sure I did a 20 mile or 2 last time, but average miles run, and total miles run, must surely be greater this time round.

**Gives self a kick up the bum to stop being so gloomy**

    Thats more like it!!:D

Its easy to think in terms of negatives and reasons why it wont go well - because its a long way and a big challenge.

But working from known facts things look much more positive - break the thing down into manageable chunks.

1.Can you run a steady 5 miles? Course you can!:D

2.Can you run a steady section between 5-10 miles? Of course you can, you've done it loads of times.:D

3.Can you run a steady section between 10-15 miles? Of course you can, you've already done it.:D

4.Can you run a steady section between 15-20 miles? Very probably since you've already run 17 miles and now have the adaptation in your legs from that run.:D

5.Can you run a steady last 10K? Who knows - but that is really your only area of unknown and believe me it is for most people, so why worry - just get your body to 20 miles in as good a shape as you possibly can and then you'll be able to sense the finish and will get pulled towards it.......

    Thanks rich.

Oh, and while I think about it - I can't do my Dad's 10k next friday - I am travelling down to France by bus (ever the MSE way!) and I couldn't guarantee to get to the bus station on time if I did the run.

Pants, but I will just have to do it next year, by which time I will be aiming for something rather better than just sub-60.

If I could find out the course though, I might be able to run it on the Thursday evening - just so I could say that I did it.........
