Well Pimlico is lushous as is Chlesea and Kensington is okay if you're not by Earls Court...I would live in Westminster if I didnt live in Pim - its lovely and quiet :D
  • Thanks for the training plan Becks it looks wonderful and i will enjoy having a specific training plan to use for training. But can i ask why if were all training to run 26.2 miles do none of the training runs take you up to this amount of miles?

You know I asked Rich the very same question when I got my first plan :D

    2 reasons -
    1. Above 20 miles your body runs out of glycogen and chances of hitting the wall are strong beyond that point - if you do that in training you wont recover in time to do the marathon - if you do it in the race you'll have to slow down but you will finish if you've trained properly
    2. For your first marathon your body needs lots of adjustments - just taking it 20 miles is tough (as you will have seen from all of our efforts recently to get there - I wimped out at 17.5 last week although I have done 20 miles twice) - all you're doing in training is getting used an amount of 'time on feet' and because you'll be running the training runs a lot slower than an actual race, 20 miles should take you up to about 3-4 hours so you know you can run for that long :D

On a second build up - its common to go up to 22-24 miles, but again only a few times!

    Does that help?

I've just mapped out a 20 mile run for the weekend with a "get out clause" at 14.....

.....and bought myself one of those belt things with water bottles in :o

Yeah you're suspicion is right! ;)

We've been looking at rooms in the crazy bear though for Abingdon - wow I LOVE the black room - but may have to go for one of the cheaper ones if I want a massage as well (which I will ;))
