Oh dear I get a rash sometimes Uk - from sweat and heat - try aftersun or an antihistamine usually works :D
  • Wow, that's great running Rich; and a 9 mile meander too :rotfl:

Oooh, uk you sound as though you've had quite a week. I hope it all clears up soon; at least it was only the rash that broke out at 5 miles :D

  • Good Morning Runchums

My training plan said long, slow 6 miles for today but having run this distance the last three Sundays in 01:05:20 (10:17/mile), 01:05:19 (10:27/mile) and 01:04:57 (10:20/mile) I decided that today I was going to play a little and set myself the challenge of getting round sub 01:00:00. Well, I like a challenge. :D

    So..... 6.24 miles, 00:59:34 (9:32/mile) :j :j :j

Happy running in the sunshine everybody!!!!!!

Nicely done, Simply - that should ensure that you have a smile on your face for the rest of the day.:D:D

Ordinarily, you would be trying to keep the longer runs as steady as possible, but when you're feeling good and want to stretch out then your body is obviously ready for it.....so it sounds like that was the mood you were in today.

    It really shows great progress!!

    Onwards and upwards!:D

  • Thanks Rich, I knew that it should have been slow and steady but it was such a lovely day and it was my last 6 mile run before attempting 8 next Sunday. That's a distance I haven't run before (not even on the treadie) so that will be slow, slow, slow.

I have finally got round to sorting out some races so could you please put me down for the following?

    Sunday 19 April - Salisbury - 5 miles
    Sunday 26 April - Houghton - 11k trail run
    Sunday 14 June - Arlesford - 10k

I'm going to run Salisbury and Houghton as training runs not races as I just want to gain some experience of running with others.

    Thanks :D

Hey Simply - Well done on the 6 miler - you'll be fine on 8 as well next weekend :D

    I've been for a run - a proper one this time :D:D:D

9 miles in 1:33 so a solid training run and although the heat was making me tired and thirsty the leg isnt too bad - just some mild aches and pains :j:j:j:j
