Sounds like a pleasant run, Sally!:D How far did you get this evening?
Chickadee - Good move, hope you enjoyed the walk.
I think the Becky grumpiness has lifted now that she has realised that she was rubbing shoulders with, and indeed overtook and beat, athletic royalty in yesterday's race! None other than a former athletics world record holder and member of the Roger Bannister 4 minute mile team - Chris Chataway.
How impressive is that? A guy who broke the world record for 3 miles 55 years ago is still finding the energy to chase Becky around some fields in Kent on a Sunday morning!!!!:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

I think its brilliant that these guys are still running. They are a real example to us all. There is a couple locally who still run. He is V75, she is V70 and they still turn out on Sundays to run 10ks. Use it or lose it! I hope I can still run a 10k when I am 70+.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Hi. im still lurking and reading all your times and am still gobsmacked. Havent done any running for the last 2 weeks as i hurt my ankle and its only just getting better. DOnt know what i did but it swelled up. So have decided for the next few months to ditch the running and concentrate on building my strength up for the challenge im doing in June then i think i might do the running after that, hopefully i'll be a lot stronger:beer:0

Nooooooo why do I always pick the stupidly hilly/undulating races instead of the lovely flat ones (DOH!)0 -
OMG Haley! Not the Three Peaks  . I will happily run another marathon, but I will never EVER do the three peaks challenge again. I did it last June and all I can say is good luck to you and I hope you raise ooodles of cash because you will earn every penny.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Just had a look at the elevation profile....... Erm, well it looks like it will be pretty traffic free, all those country lanes. Can't really add much to that I'm afraid. You should have come to Morecambe on Sunday. That is a flat oneSealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Um having an enforced rest day today - have my slight niggle back but its worse than before so walknig today instead - its the shin that is hurting on the inside so its time for plenty if RICE as usual in these cases
Happy running all!0 -

Is that really that hilly?
That's something like 150ft total change in elevation (max-min), even Swansea Bay (which is, more or less, along the beach) has 70ft... and some of my training routed are 500 odd...
I know it's a long course and you have to tackle them hills a couple of times on the way round, but surely it's gonna be tough to find anywhere that's much flatter for that kinda distance?
Or am I just a tough, hill-trekking southerner?0
