Awww I am annoyed
My results have been posted and apparently my time was 54:00 dead - weird I swear they shouted 53:04 when I ran through - hmph thats the problem with no chip timing!
Anyway I came 19th out of 84 women in my age group so not too bad considering the time..., overall I came 239th out of 562 finishers - which is interesting considering over 600 people started the race!!
*Becky goes off to grumble to herslef for an hour or two*
Wahaey! Becky is grumpy! So you aren't chirpy all the time eh?Its still a good time, considering the hills involved.
I'm taking a night off tonight. Yesterday as I was on my 14-miler my right knee started to ache. I thought it was because I was running on a camber at the side of the road but it still feels achey today, like I've twisted it somehow. I'll have a rest today and see how it feels tomorrow. Hopefully it will be just a niggle.
I love my Garmin, but I know what you mean about looking like you've been tagged :rotfl:Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Hello Sunny - sorry about the ramblings
Um I presume you've never run before since you havent had running shoes?? We usually recommend beginners start with a solid foundation of walking so you're doing the right thing
How many weeks do you have before your race?? If you can fit in 4 weeks of walking (4-6 miles is perfect) 3 times a week before you start the plan that would be fantastic.
Happy running/walking
Hi Becky
never run before in my life (45 next b'day). 14 weeks to go til race on 21st June - Jane Tomlinson's run.
I walk to and from work every day - 1km each way. Do have a step counter and have been averaging 8-10,000 steps per day
Have been going on 3km walk/jog on a Sunday with 2 friends who have also entered the race. They are 5 years younger and 2 stones lighter than me!!!
First 2 weeks have been walking at the gym 3-5km depending on how much time I have.
Week 3 - is supposed to be walk 5 mins, jog 5 mins for 30 mins.
went to the gym tonight but ended up doing 7km on the bike cos blister was rubbing on the ankle. Will blitz the blister then will be ok for Thursday at the gym.Mortgage free as at 1/9/13 :j
To start work on the credit cards now!!0 -
Hi Sally - have you got any pre-marathon races planned?
Hypno I think that 10k will be tough mentally so good on you for doing it! And you are talking about another marathon again
I aiming for 10 miles warm up, 10 miles run and a 10k race - but since my racing so far has been rubbish in terms of carrying out plans I think I'll be very happy if I stick to that!!
No I don't have any planned Becky, money is very tight now DH has been made redundant and i cant afford to enter any. I know it would be good to get some races in but hey I'll just have to settle for my plodding along!I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Hi Sally, good to see you are enjoying the runs. There is nothing better than a lovely peaceful sunny evening run is there? It makes being a runner the best thing in the world.
I decided to take what I know would have been our coach and guide Rich's advice and I went for a walk this evening, to increase the flow of blood to my knee and thereby speed recovery. I just went for a little walk whilst DS was at footy, about 40 minutes, but enough to get the blood pumping round. Far better than just sitting here!Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Still a bit grumpy - but just had a pep talk and feeling a bit better...
Ran a gentle 6 miler this evening but got cramp and had to stop...mostly likely just tired muscles but am going to talk it extra easy this week just to make sure
Happy running all!0
