Hi Sally! Havent seen you in a while - hope training's going well!

Stepdad mentioned cups - maybe he meant bottles - I'm pretty sure he said cups though...hhmmmm.

Its the bit along the portway that causes the problems because it is windy...anyway we've had some good suggestions about how to make it better for this year so he cant put some of those to the organisers anyway :D:D

Training has been ticking along thanks..although have some dodgy knees going on at the moment so off to see sports injury clinic this afternoon :)

Yes along the portwey was mighty windy if I remember right. One thing I would suggest is that they put the bins further away from the water stations as they have the tables with all the drinks on then the bins almost straight after. Not many people would stop take a drink and throw away straight away. I would say having them a hundred meters down would give people enough time to keep running and take on what water they need then chuck bottle away. If they use bottles again this year, why don't they get massive recycling bins which could be taken straight away and recycled for money?
I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Becky Good luck with Ashby, although I'm sure you won't need it!

Webitha Congrats on the 5k. I practically walked my first one. Fortunately I improved over time. Roll on the next one :T

Interesting points raised re racing for charity and club runners. Whilst a few of my club folks do marathons, very few do them for charity and I've heard the same complaints that races seem to be mainly for charity runners, which puts them off. I'm sold on the idea of doing a marathon overseas periodically, although one of next year's half marathons will be back in Jamaica as I want the, very pretty, medal (have I just committed myself to more than one HM in 2010 already? :D ).

Still looking for a UK marathon end September/early October. Something not too far from London but probably not a city one, as I'd like to be gasping for air (lungs not used to clean air) out in the countryside :rotfl:

    Is that all?

I can sense you're keeping information from me.....

Haha, we tease them, but I don't think anything is going on, though you never know with those endorphins flying around (stop it beer tins, you're just feeding the monster!).

I seem to remember becky mentioning rich has got himself a lady friend. But I have no further information and am not one to pry (not suggesting others are, of course!).
