Those reps are mighty impressive - are they the first you've done during your time on here?

Another rest day today!
This is hard - I'm itching to get out and run, but 20 miles in the morning should sort that out!:D
Becky has been to Wimbledon for this morning's 5k race, but recorded a DNF after pulling out just after half way as a precautionary measure. It was really intended as a warm up for tomorrow's Sevenoaks 10k anyway, so no real problems.
Although if the truth be known, the pull out came at the point when it looked like she was in serious danger of being beaten by the dalmatian. There is a suspicion that it was actually Beer Tins in a dalmatian outfit but those reports as yet remain unconfirmed.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

HAHAHA the dalmatian beat me last week - this week I was on for it...drat, just got a twinge half way through which isnt surprising after last weekends had run 20 and Wednesdays hard run 11 - so thought I'd leave the pace for tomorrow
Happy running all!0 -

No time to run for me today - have been working this morning, and about to take the children for their karate grading......hoping to do my long run tomorrow though!
Sorry you had to DNF, becky - but in the bigger scheme of things, no bad thing.

Can I get some help?
I am currently running 10k in about 65 mins. I am trying to find a training plan for a 10k that might get me to do the 10k in under 60 mins..I put my figures into the training world coach thing and even when i tell it I want to train very hard it tells me to do my long runs at 11.32 mins per mile, my tempo runs at 9.54
but I find it hard to run slower than I do at the minute on my long runs......even after the plan of 15 weeks it is still telling me to run at 10.51 mins per mile.
Am I being unrealistic and should I just do the plan or does anyone know of a better one.Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Sammy - you should be running your long runs slowly - only put speed and distance together rarely - it sounds like you're over training and are tired...
The key is to do short burst speed work once (or twice) depending on how many days a week you're running and run everything else at a boringly slow pace...
Rich can you do the specifics please - for 10k is it 800m intervals?? Starting at 3 reps I presume...0
