Pink, once you're up to the distance, why don't you start walking to work and back? Or is there no footpath? It would kill 2 birds with one stone, all of your commuting time would become part of your exercise time.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0

Thats what I do re: run commuting
and its how I started
Although these days I have to go round a few times to make the distance up, but luckily there are lots of bridges to cross to make it interesting - my current fav is Albert Bridge - oh so pretty
And we are not crazy JJ - just a little over fuelled on endorphins!0 -
im looking forward to be fuelled by endorphins!
Becks your so luck to be able to run were you find it pretty, me i run along the main A road between lincoln and the motorway, always full of lorries and cars trying to overtake them in silly places. The footpath is right at the side of the road and on sunday when i first tried the route i was picked up off my feet with the air rush from the lorries going past me.( pretty scary the first couple of time that it happened).Running Club5KM - 25:20(51.21%) 10KM - 53:40(50.26%)1/2 Marathon - 2.14.57(44.20%)Marathon 5:11:00 (40.78%)0 -

Oi Beertins - you run in one of the most beautiful places on Earth - okay so its swarming with tourists but its pretty - I'll not hear anything against running in London (although stopping to give directions is pretty annoying)...
Idio - I'm going to be doing Abingdon mara in October - you're up that way arent you?? Fancy joining me and Rich??0 -

Part of the thames path south of Oxford...It's a lovely run over the water, actually - pass a couple more locks and weirs etc later in the run too.
Beats some of the routes I do pounding the pavements anyway...0 -

True, it is pretty. But you forget I work in the city and the old street end at that. Not the prettiest part of London, really. And with all the traffic lights and crowds, you can forget lunchtime running, although some hard core runners still try to. There are a lot of truly stunning areas in London though. Londoners just don't stop to take them in. Depending where you run, you may have to stop a lot for traffic lights, to get around crowds etc. but running down the embankment is brilliant, great sights and a nice wide pavement with no roads to cross.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

Ooh, yeah - that will start about a mile or so from that piccy, actually. (for trivia, it starts where I play footy on Wedsnesdays) Though I think the route is a bit less interesting iirc.
I'm not 100% sure I'll be fit enough to do a full marathon by Oct, but it could be a good target for me to aim for.
I'll certainly be around for post-race beers and so on, anyway.0
