Week27
Mon2/3 Rest Day
Tues3/3 10K 57:32 (9:17/mile) (Pulse 78)
Tues3/3 10K 57:26 (9:16/mile) (Pulse 76)
Tonight's session was planned as an interval session.
However, it is wet and very, very blustery out there. Since my intervals are run on an exposed moor (the very moor immortalised in Jane Eyre for all you literary buffs), any interval session would have been pointless.
So another gentle 10K seemed the most sensible option.:D
I see the weather has affected one or two other plans too!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Oi you wussies
7:33, 7:27 and 3 laps at 5:33 before a stitch hit, and I had so many branches on route I had stop twice and re-remove them (I got most on my warm up but they kept blowing back in)...so a total of 12 miles so far this week for me - I'm pretty pleased with that session stitch aside because I've reduced my between interval time from 2 minutes to 1 minute this week and my times are the same as previous so that's good news0 -
oooo congrats on the funding Hypno (not jealous at all...)0

Nice intervals!!:D
That's the advantage of having a garden surrounded by high buildings! Or is there even any wind down there?:p
Anyway, well done on the times - that would suggest that your 5K time on Saturday really is going to get improved as long as stitches stay out of the equation.
You must feel great after that!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Well done to all those braving the weather! I don't normally run on a Tuesday, so I'm not missing a session as such.....but I am still happy to be called a wuss for not running........it is manky out there!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. but i did find out why people have GPS watch's
Normally one hand would be full of a drink and the other with my phone on stopwatch mode... but with the gps watch thing when the driver of a car decided to try and play "spalsh the runner"... said runner now had a free hand to give a well timed hand gesture.
:rotfl:
Anyways got about 5 miles of tough hills lined up for tommorwCabbage Patch 09 - 10m - 1hr 06mLeicester 09 -1/2 - 1h 26m0 -

There is wind - half the trees have left their branches in the garden...but I admit it may be more sheltered than your moor land...thats no excuse for wimpiness on your part though
I would hope so - I'll better last week all things being equal but we'll see if it'll be a pb
And Uk :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:, thats what camelbacks are for0 -

Sooooo jealous of your 10K times! I will get there one day soon I hope!
Any tips on food/drink on race day? I had one serious stitch at about 5K and ran with it for about 3K, not nice and it slowed me down. Think I maybe drank too much before I set off.Do what you want because in the end people will judge you anyway.0 -
Hi Rachael,
On races up to 15 or so miles I eat muesli or something similar about 3 hours before and nothing else then make sure I drink steadily before (but no more than usual) and up to 13 miles I dont drink during the race - I know other people do but I find it makes me burp, but I'll drink a sports drink afterwards
(sadly those are Rich's training times - his pbs are wayyyy better)0
