Becky wouldn't post until I'd mentioned the hills, because she thought that you might think she was talking about southern hills, ie speed bumps!:p

It never crossed my mind......... :rotfl: .

Wow Sally 3 hours at marathon pace that's seriously impressive on a training run - just be careful you're not running too hard and overtraining like I was earlier on in the year :)

    Uk - nice humps :D

becky - ouch, but very well done for carrying on - as you say, many would have given up.

    rich, well done too!

evanesco - welcome aboard....you will soon be sprinting along just like me  :rotfl:

ukevas and kms - another good run from each of you

sallyx - WELL DONE!!!!! Fantastic! My first thought (I am a little ashamed to say) was that I am very jealous of you having done that distance, but then I realised you have done that after a week off, and so there is absolutely NO reason why I can't do the same after my blister-induced week off.......so THANK YOU for giving me the confidence to go for a mega run next weekend!

I walked a bit - not far enough to call it truly worthwhile, but I have to put something in here after all your massive efforts :o

Im confused, what do you mean 3 hours at marathon pace  am I being stupid and missing something obvious?

Certainly wasn't running hard by any stretch of the imagination

  • Thanks Hypno.

I thought since I'm fully strapped in on the DFW wagon (still), I'd be able to manage another addition. I need something else to do rather than sitting on my butt, watching it grow!

Have got 2 3 mile routes planned for next week, both going different ways round the area, change of scenery like, and we intend to do Mon, Wed, Fri, weekend off (we're going to visit friends). Then Tue, Thur, and Sat. Then I'll do us some new 4 mile ones for the fortnight after. Nice and steady, I hate being injured. i had to take 6 months off pole dancing last year after a funny fall and I got fat lol

Hypno, I only missed 1 run this week on Friday and the extra session of intervals I have added. Did all other runs/walks though. But def lower on mileage this week which has helped me today.

You should be absolutely fine this week and back up to where you were before no problem

Think I will struggle at run club tomorrow but will be there plodding at the back :rotfl:

Sorry Sally I didnt mean to confuse you...what I was trying to say was that when you bring distance and speed together it takes longer to recover and today you ran 16 miles at 11 min/miles and if you are aiming for 4:30 then thats 26 miles at just below 11 minute miles - not many people would be able to run such a long run at near mp, so that means you're well on track :D

You can do it Hypno...I woke up this morning and thought " I CAN DO IT" and was bloody determined not to give up. Its all about PMA for me. Do your planned runs this week and then just see how you feel. Just remember your feet are still tender and its not worth pushing your feet and then having to have another week out

Do you know though, you have the bigger advantage in the fact you have done it before, you know what is required of you and the PMA to get you around
