Hi Evab, Just checked out your blog! Sorry that your back is still giving you problems, it must be really frustrating! I don't have a physical excuse for not having run last week, its more in my head but it was still pretty strong motivation not to run, sadly! I hope your sessions with the chiropracter have a positive effect.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Chiropractor is brill, I haven't had any pain for 2 weeks and feel really good but taking it easy still.
Mental motivation is half the battle of getting out there and running, when I feel like that I think of Jane Tomlinson as an inspiration. But hey we all need time off so don't beat yourself up about it.
p.s. if you go through my blog to dh's (sorelimbs) he has some links to some great running blogs.0 -
chick, what a lovely weekend, and a fab run too!
haley, a 6 mile walk is pretty good - keep up the good work.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Morning All!
Well done Hayley on the 6 mile walk - thats great prep for when you start tackling the runs - and see how the distance is much less scary now
Wow KM that looks a tough run - great time and some hard work gone into that
Chickkkkkkkkkk - 'ello! Glad you're feeling better and it just goes to show sometimes a break totally sorts you out - running is definitely a love/hate thing - you just needed to fall back in love again
Alias - keep plugging away - you are soooo getting there - every run towards the goal of improvement
I have woken up with one bloodshot eye - ouch - well sort of - it doesnt hurt, but looks so awful - no idea what caused it0 -
Morning all, am at work today, although I should be on holiday. All sorts of things going on here at the moment, so my two days holiday have been re-scheduled to later in the week. I am pleased to report that I had a morning run today. It felt great, although at first my body grumbled at being asked to exert itself so early in the day. It was a gentle 4.25 miler, run at a nice steady 9:40 pace. I have to say, it sets you up well for the day. Now I'm in the office I feel great, and it cleared my mind for the day ahead. It might even become a regular thing.
Have a happy running day!Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

You may have just rubbed it and irritated it during the night. Do you wear contact lenses? Maybe you got a bit of dust behind your lens without realising it. Take it easy and if it doesn't get better a trip to the GP may be in order. Hope it isn't conjunctivitis - really contageous and the sticky eyes aren't a good look..Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

It seems to be getting better so I dont think its conjunctivitis - thank goodness
I do wear contacts and they were rather dry/cloudy yesterday - which happens occasionally so I changed them for a new pair today even though I wasnt due to:D
Hopefully they'll be fine by tomorrow for intervals
Good news about the morning run - its sooo addicitve, especially now the mornings are getting lighter0 -
Morning all. Well, my Nike+ sensor in my shoe has died on me, so my lack of organisation means I'm not really tracking my progress and don't know my recent times and distances. I'm reluctant to buy a new sensor for £12, especially as they seem to die in well under a year.
Soooo... I'm in the market for a new gizmo (I expect idio's head to pop up). It doesn't need to be all singing all dancing, but the features I'm after are:
1) NOT with a foot tag that you need to replace every x months when the battery dies.
2) Something I can upload my data to my PC from.
I'm not too fussed about other features, but heart rate might be nice, to actually start taking note for that kind of thing. Any suggestions?
Hope everyone's running is going well. I'll tell you how mine's going once I actually knowRunning Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
Hi Beer tins, I'd be interested as well. Mapmyrun seems to consume too much time and it would be good to be able to track my pace and distance as I am running. I did get a heart rate monitor but I found the chest strap uncomfortable. TBH for me, HRM isn't a gadget I'm too fussed about.

Shhh dont tell Coachie - Garmin 50 if you dont need maps and 405 if you do:
https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=142&pID=11039 - amazon is usually a good bet for cheapest buys or try ebay...
Or if you have a nokia phone - try sportsracker - you can sync it to the satellites and do maps etc as well on the web, but no HRM even if you want it obviously, and doenst do live maps like a gps system (although if you can get gps on N95 to work I suspect it does do that)...
(I'm a gadget nerd too, but too poor to afford one)
