, i got frustrated because i couldn't connect to my wireless. I had to give it to a techie family member who had to change 'keys' and things on our wireless network/router. This means nothing to me!

basically what appears to have happened is you couldn't remember the correct password for the wireless connection to your router (and hey why would you if you only use it once a year lol!) so your friend has had to reset the password or key so that you can get the two to match - took me 5 mins to remember my 13 digit key as well but thats my fault not the machines lol!!

see earlier in the thread for xp install from a usb pen, hth

  • Disregard my message up there ^.

Asda, very readily, changed mine for a new one- no questions asked, no drama (credit where its due etc)....

For anyone nearby, the lady in electrical said she wouldn't put one aside for me as "dont worry love, theres loads of em in our warehouse". So if youre deperate, Taunton's your place....

You really dont need to dismantle your Acer, (and void your warranty) I did mention this earlier on in this thread that if you go to

    http://www.eboostr.com

you can increase your memory for free there - see my earlier post for full details or there website.

Im using as we speak and it seems to be pretty good (I have a 2gb sd card installed and am running Xp)

    Hope this helps:j

This is only any good if you want additional memory for XP though. I want to stick Windows 7 on mine which although it will install, doesn't run at all well with 512meg, but is pretty good with 1 gig.

Doesnt Windows 7 already come with ready boost or is that only Vista? So using eboostr would be irrelevant anyway.

My comments are aimed at those that are trying to put Xp on - of which there seem to be many judging by the comments on this thread.:D
