Why not just buy an external cd-rom for £12.90 and install XP the normal way? 120GB is 10 times the space you need for a normal XP install without any messing about and the CD-rom will always come in useful in the future.

Just bought the last one at Burgh Heath (Banstead). Sorry to anyone else headed to that store! Got the 160Gb version. Awesome.
I can't seem to get any video files to play on it and I've tried downloading the mplayer codecs with no result so I think I'll stick Windows on it tomorrow.0 -
Finally got mine running Windows XP Pro this evening, took its time after having a few problems but in the end got it done
Now boots up fine and as far as i know everything works, no driver problems in device manager, installed them all. Going to tweak it tomorrow.

I do agree with what a few others have said, it would be much easier if your a bit of a n00b to use an external drive and the disc. Although if you are good and following instructions you should be fine too when getting xp onto a USB device.Things that are free in life are great, well most of the time :beer:0

I think it's worth mentioning, even with just 1/2gb it runs XP remarkably well - IMO better than Linpus. Though i've still ordered the extra 1gb for £8.50 from 7dayshop; as I can remember what memory-hogging Eclipse used to run like when my main desktop had only 1/2gb
It manages to decode high quality bbc iplayer without dropping frames too, which is nice. Though I don't think it'd manage much more, as it pushes both cores upto ~75% utilization to do it. (yes, the Atom process appears to have support hyper-threading, something I wasn't aware of!)0 -
Hi all. After reading about these on here yesterday, i decided to leave work early and rush over to Asda (Swindon) and pick one up. I couldn't see them anywhere though so went to the sales desk to ask, but as i was queuing, i noticed one out of the box in a display cabinet with a big £150 next to it. I was told that this display model was the only one they had left, but that it hadn't been handled by customers. They knocked 10% without me even asking, so i bought it for £135!!
But when i got it home, i as wasn't impressed as i hoped i would be. After fiddling around with it for about 5 minutes, i got frustrated because i couldn't connect to my wireless. I had to give it to a techie family member who had to change 'keys' and things on our wireless network/router. This means nothing to me!I also found out that it couldn't use Itunes, which was the main reason i needed the netbook! I got  and said i wanted
to take it back! But now i've calmed down, i was wondering if anyone can tell me, in non techie terms, how easy it is to install any type of Windows and how i go about it. I would really appreciate it :j . Thanks for everything everyone has provided so far, there is already so much help on here!0 -
aaaaagh...
Saw it here, rushed out and bought it....fiddled around (!), went online etc no problem,
Now I cant open "network center".
tearing my hair out - and i think i've looked everywhere.
Does anyone know how to reset it to its factory settings?
Thanks, hopefully,
Biz0
