That's 1.7 times as much as 'gold plated town hall fat cats' such as low paid care workers, binmen etc who are now and always have been on 30/80th of pay after 30 years (at age 65) and who also have to contribute 6% plus of their salary.

You have missed the point. If the job titles are anything to go by, most of those jobs are unnessary and virtually all of them are overpaid.

I was referring to the civil service, which is if you knew your stuff you would know does not comprise local councils

You can call yourselves what you like but you are all living off the tax payer.

As for giving offence, I am with the late John Mortimer on that one.

It was more a case of being crude and abusive than giving offence.

Its the unnecessary part that annoys me. Sometimes there are people employed to manage one person!

Public Sector bodies advertise posts at the same time to save on recruitment costs. As a result posts often remain unfilled for some time until a bulk can be advertised simultaneously. Your English is not clear enough on the second sentence for me to understand it. Genuinely.

Managers are required to manage systems and processes as well as people.

There's also responsibility and accountability.

You tried to justify your reasons for 'giving offence'. What I pointed out is that you are actually being crude and abusive. That goes somewhat further than giving offence.

We had plenty at the Japanese bank I worked for. A dept of 7 had 4 managers!
