Hi elaps, I've also recently converted my account to Premier Life. May I ask what the interest rate for purchases is on the credit card? Does it look pretty like the black debit card? :P

It's the same design. Which is a bit annoying, since I've gotten them confused a couple of times.

Same design??? That is boring! Is it run by Barclays or Barclaycard?
    Cashback Earnt so far in 2009: AMEX £133.93, wepromiseto.co.uk £67.07, Barclaycard £25, MobilePhoneExchange: £28. TOTAL: £254.00
  • I was quoted 13.9 on purchases, compared to 19.9 on the Barclaycard platinum (from my January statement ... not sure if that is up to date).

Is the Barclays Premier Life Connect debit card supposed to be black?

I recently upgraded and was sent out a normal, cyan coloured card...
  • I was tempted, but I didn't see much benefit (that I'd use) beyond that already supplied by my platinum banking account. So I decided to stay where I was. Plus I like the silver cards lol. :)

19.9% on platinum (barclaycard) purchases? My statement says 12.9? Are they all different?
    Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

One way to qualify is £50k savings.

An offset mortgage with £50k offset does this.
Also qualifies for platinum if you dont want the premier.

Not sure we can use the benifits over the additions active which has a lot of this stuff for £14pm, Airport lounges(6 visiys) could be handy though.

I've just recieved mine and it is black. We made big savings switchhing to this account just on the RAC, Travel Insurance and Domestic Emergency although it does state that the Boiler etc is only covered providing it is serviced yearly.

Not sure if I'll ever use the "Lifestyle Management" - Anyone tried it yet?

Platinum Banking is a withdrawn product.

    BARCLAYS MANAGER
    Re: Platinum Banking

i used to be with Barclays until about 4 years ago and then transferred to HSBC. I've transferred back to Barclays now but my question is this.

I never closed the account when transferring over to HSBc and platinum banking still shows up on my online banking.
Does this mean I'm still registered foe platinum banking even though I hadnt used the account for about 4 years?

Would I still get the benefits of platinum banking such as a high daily ATM withdrawal rate-( £750 i think it was)?

It still shows my 250 overdraft available. I'm only asking because when I asked for a new debit card I got a blue one instead of the silver one. I still meet the old platinum banking criteria.

Sorry to hijack this thread and thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi everyone,

I recently applied for the Barclay's Premier Credit Card as part of opening my new Premier Life account. I have always banked with Natwest previously, but my friend recommended Premier Life for the benefits, as I lead a pretty hectic lifestyle and would make use of the lifestyle managers and other benefits.

So far, I have been really impressed with the extra services that come with the account (the Premier Lifestyle Managers are speed dial - They're brilliant).

    However, my reservations are:

Barclays seem to be very slow at processing everyday banking requests. I applied for a cheque book 2 weeks ago and I am still waiting to receive it. It also took the bank a while to send out all the general account opening bits (i.e debit card, telephone banking info etc.)

I was just wondering if anyone else had experience this?

    My other questions are:

I was sent the Cyan coloured debit card instead of the premier life black card. I spoke to the team at the bank and they said that it was most probably because I didn't have a high enough credit score to have the black card. I knew this simply wasn't the case as I check all three of my credit reports on a monthly basis and have very high scores for all three.

I was then asked if I would like to apply for the Barclays Premier Credit Card, which I did thinking I wouldn't be accepted as they had declined the debit card application, only to find out that the credit card application had been accepted, and that I will be receiving a good initial credit limit. How can I be accepted for the credit card, and not the debit card I asked myself?

Does anyone have any pictures of this premier credit card as I haven't seen what it looks like? Is it a Visa card like the debit card or a Mastercard? Is it Black like the premier debit card?

Cannot wait to hear people's responses!
