Doing a beef and potato bakething for dinner tonight which will hopefully be as successful as last nights lamb stew/casserole thingy.
Have done a few quick sweeps round the room and got a load of washing done so will get that folded and tidied when I get back from shopping.
Hugs to all that need them

    :hello: Good morning!

Moggins - How lovely to see you back, but I'm so sorry life has not been kind to you in the meantime (((HUGS))) I hope DD is feeling better now. Perhaps she didn't like to disturb you? I too wish Kazonline would come back to us as well.

Marie - So sorry to hear about poor Luca, I hope treatment can help him. As someone else said, he is really not that old. (((HUGS)))

Churchmouse - Hope today is a better day. Be kind to yourself (((HUGS)))

Csarina - Hope all goes well this afternoon.

Hester - I hope you have a better day today! You certainly shouldn't be on your feet for 9 hours without a break! at the casual way you are treated, they would get such a shock if you left and they had to find someone else to do all that you do!

Aaaagh, i can't remember who was making the potato bake, sorry - but the tomatoes and peppers sound as if they would go very well in it!

    Welcome to Jollyjojo!

Coldstreamalways - No one will swap with you? That's awful! Now, I realise you may not want to go down this road, but as you are in the Army, could a superior officer maybeorder someone to swap with you? You must have the recovery time you need! I hope you manage to get it sorted. (((HUGS)))

Going down the town this morning to buy a couple of flannels/facecloths for my DB..He lives in Germany and is about to start R/T for prostate cancer, and they drew arrows on him yesterday and he's not allowed to shower for 8 weeks, until the treatment's finished (his partner told the consultant she'd need a clothespeg for her nose :p )So I thought I'd get him some flannels from M & S or BHS - hopefully the labels will make him feel that it's a taste of home every time he has a wash, so to speak!

Breakfast today - porridge, but I didn't enjoy it much for some reason. Maybe I should have had Weetabix instead!

    Lunch - soup and bread

Dinner - stirfry - will need to get a chicken breast to put in it unless there's still one lurking somewhere in the freezer

((((HUGS)))) to all in need, and I hope everyone has as good a day as possible :)

    Best wishes

    Morning all,

Cold, windy and damp here, clothes draped all over house to dry, feeling miserable..hate this kind of weather.

Hester...there is no way you should be working under those conditions, anyone else would just down tools until things improve.

csarina...hope that you find out what the problem is, some things can be difficult to diagnose. Congratulations on your new car, safe motoring

Thriftlady, know what you mean about shopping, am finally adjusting to shopping when I need to rather than weekly...still feel uneasy on Fridays as that used to be my shopping day.

Jollyjojo...welcome, I am sure you will enjoy it here. Don't worry, it is not necessary to be as organised as some to be an OSer, having spent all my life up at silly o'clock I retired and stopped rising with the lark.

Coldstream....if you are on sick leave, surely it is not your responsibility to have someone 'swop' with you, even in the army??

Missing Luca, his is usually the first voice I hear in the morning...roll on midday till I find out if I can take him home today.

Hugs to all in need or want, welcome to newbies, have a good day all

Welcome to Jollyjojo - love the name! You'll find this thread addictive, I promise!

Moggins - I have recorded the Victorian Farm but not yet watched it - is it good?

Well, I'm halfway through my housework so I'm treating myself to a sit down for five minutes before I get the rest done. I've just been out for some milk and it's quite mild out there today.

Hope everyone is having a good day; I haven't caught up with all the thread yet - will do this afternoon.

well asda was slightly scary today, lots of biddies, rude people and yellow stickering going on.
Luckily I managed to contain myself and stuck to my list apart from some frying steak (treat for OH) and some more lamb after the success of last night so reasonably impressed with myself.

Got to sort out a to do list for today (I like ticking things off once I've done them, makes me feel like I've actually accomplished something!)

Gosh - so much sadness and bad news on this thread of late. My thought go out to you all. Let's start telling each other of the positives in our lives as well :)

I'm having a very quiet day and thoroughly enjoying it! Making a one-pot wonder from my good food email tonight, chicken Pilaf, and some baking to take to a friends tomorrow. Other than that I'm awaiting a John Lewis delivery and refuse to do any house work!

    hugs to all xxx

r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!
I can't promise that all my replies will illicit this response :p
  • Jollyjojo - I am absolutely dreadful at all things housewifey, but I come on here all the time and no-one tells me off. There are such a wonderful, friendly supportive bunch here.

Meanmarie - wishing Luca and you all the best. I am sure that you have known Luca a lot longer than many human people, and if they are not there, there is a hole in the world. I even miss evil cat when she is at the vet.

Aussie - I do hope Benny is alright. With furry friends you can't try distraction to stop car sickness. Wishing you a LOT of luck.

Little bear is having a sleep. I have just had a sleep. This is not OS. This is indolence. Actually I haven't been sleeping and little bear is not napping as he should, so the nice people coming to fit a smoke alarm are going to have to step over and around the junk. I am hoping that he will sleep through the racket that the building site nearby has just started.

    Beef stew for tea.

Hester - also suggest, though you may find yourself too young to be buying these, support stockings and also ask bursar will she fund these for unacceptable working conditions. I think support stockings also come as tights.

And little bear has been woken up by the builders who are doing something loud with hoses. The street has been wrecked by water running off and the neighbour with a Steptoe's approach to landscaping has been complaining about the state of the street.

And dear heart seems to be fussed about something and I don't know what. Sigh.

Must go to little bear before he gets upset.

I think I might have to, obviously it's better to have a volunteer! We'll see if anyone gets back to me by the end of the day.
