Morning all :hello:
Don't you just hate being a day ahead of yourself. I was convinced yesterday was Thursday and today is Friday grrr.
Redruby I hope your nephew gets some help to deal with all this. perhaps his GP can arrange some sort of counselling.
Halight glad you enjoyed a nice day yesterday and I hope something turns up soon for you job wise. The twins sound adorable btw
Thriftlady shopping of all forms makes me want to poke my eyes out with a sharp stick, I simply detest it apart from books that is..oh and shoes Each time I mention shoes I hear DH muttering under his breath about Imelda. Seriously though I really hate shopping apart from books and shoes.
Diva any word yet how Tristan is doing?
Churchmouse I hope you have a better day today, what you are going through is all part of the grieving process
PP I hope all goes well at the hospital and you have a rest
I want to send positive thoughts and warm hugs to all those poorly folks, all those recently bereaved, those who have worries and cat hugs from the furry mudgekin to all the poorly pets
Today will be a freezer rummage when I get home as I was confused with the days and I refuse to buy any food today on the way home. I need to get my act together and plan next week's meals as I must do a proper shop this weekend, hopefully I can get most of the major things and that will just leave milk and veg for the rest of the month. I am determined to make more use of my slow cooker as I really don't use it often enough so will factor this in when I shop.
have a good day everyone
Mel xx

Good morning everyone. Milder here today after the temp dipped a bit last night. DH says it's fairly mild this morning and it had rained overnight. Weather forecast calls for rain until Monday here. Yuck! Hoping it holds off today as DH is off and we'd like to get out for a walk around.
OS today will just be the regular tidying up and cleaning. Dinner will be going in the slow cooker soon. Making a big sausage casserole type thing with regular links and some of the square sausage I made. Very filling and warming.
Didn't get my bread dough made yesterday as I was feeling poorly most of the day. Nothing I can pinpoint, just generally felt badly. Will get that going this morning as we're out of HM bread.
Lots and lots of ((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) for all, including our furbabies today. Life seems very sad and trying for so many right now. Know you are all thought of often and prayed for.

Morning all.
Busy day here - back at work for the first full day since Christmas. House is a tip, cat fur everywhere and only four clean side plates to eat off. Hmmm. I've just got in from the gym and collapsed on the sofa. Oven is on for OH's dinner but not sure what I'll have - we're using up leftovers.
I'm debating a made up meal for tomorrow night and wonder if I could ask for some opinions here - I've killed every other thread I've posted on recently but hopefully this one is too resilient...
So, I'm thinking a hybrid potato dauphinoise:
Sliced potatoes layered with sliced onion and crispy bacon, baked with a very thin white sauce (made with dairy free butter and rice milk - OH allergic). I feel like it needs some kind of seasoning or something as the white sauce is very bland. Was thinking about rosemary sprigs? Or maybe thyme? What do you all think? Any opinions very gratefully received.
Hugs to all in need, things are not so good at the moment for many and you have my sympathies.0 -

Rosemary sounds good. What about garlic? Or layering up some different veggies with it - cauliflower, broccoli, green beans, peppers etc? I was going to say cheese but then read that your oh can't have milk or butter so I'm guessing that cheese is out too
You could fry some breadcrumbs for sprinkling on the top too to make it crunchy. HTH0 -
Morning everyone
Having a minor panic attack, have guests for dinner tomorrow and house is a tip, I have to get off to work in a few mins so nothing to be done till later, where to start? I HATE housework and all it entails. Need to put a wash on but without TD it may still be damp tommorrow, can't have it hanging around, what to do? Will rope in teens and OH tonight. Yes, I wondered about garlic... but was a little unsure about exactly what to do with it - precook and scatter? Blend it into the white sauce? Or just slice and let it sort of roast in?
Cheese is sadly out. I adore cheese! I might do the bakes in individual dishes and then I can have cheese with mine. I might also experiment with semi dried tomatoes and peppers, with perhaps some torn basil. Wonder if that will work with bacon?
Thanks for the reply sunnygirl!0 -
Hello all,
((Taplady))-thank you.
Still feeling sorry for myself after Monday, I'm supposed to be on call the week after my op and no-one will swap with me so I don't know what to do.
Anyway, happy days at work, my nurse is so lovely and she's leaving soon. I'm dreading getting a replacement, it's such hard work at the start I'll just have to hope she has a good attitude, anything alse can be moulded!!
Hey ho, got OH's children coming for supper tonight and I've no idea what to cook! I'm sure something will come to me during the course of the day.
Love to all0 -
Hello Everybody:o
I have just kind of stumbled in here and it seems to be a lovely warm place to be, so I think I might stay if that is alright?
I have to admit that I am so desprately trying to be moneysaving, but just not very good at it so far, a little more effort required I think.
I have one peice of cottage pie left from last night, which I shall give to my OH this evening, but I know he will wrinkle his nose as he had it last night, but if I put it in the freezer it will be lost forever:rotfl: . I think I will make myself some soup for lunch.
You all sound so organised as well.....two loads of washing done by 7.30am:eek: , back from the gym by 8.15am:eek:  .
Now that I have found you all, and I am hoping to be inspired by you all and by the end of the month I shall be a verified Old Style Money Saver:T
Wish me luck:o
