Hope everyone is ok today, not long until the weekend.
TRU - Love your chat about having a separate number only your family know, this is GENIUS!:D
OS wise, lunch is on the company today as have a meeting at 1pm so I won't be paying:rolleyes: Leftover pasta abke for tea later, handwashed all my dishes this morn instead of filling the DW.:j
Went to the Boots sale yesterday lunchtime and it was like a rugby scrum. There was only one shelf with a few bits on, mainly xmas wrapping and cards. I managed to get a lovely large ceramic cookie jar for £2.50 from £10. Will do as a gift cos I can put some HM biccies in when I get the time!
Enough rambling, have a good day all!

You all sound so organised as well.....two loads of washing done by 7.30am:eek: , back from the gym by 8.15am:eek:  .
Now that I have found you all, and I am hoping to be inspired by you all and by the end of the month I shall be a verified Old Style Money Saver:T
Wish me luck:o
JO
Hi Jo! I'm in Australia so I was actually back from the gym at 7pm! How people get two loads of washing done by 7.30am is beyond me however. I'm so disorganised and lazy that I've resorted to setting a timer and doing 30 minutes of frantic cleaning/tidying etc at a time, before collapsing on the sofa feeling virtuous. Unfortunately, I then come on here, see how much other people have done and all feelings of virtue rapidly disappear! :rotfl:0 -
Hello everybody,
Stinking hot again here today. Went out this morning and got home around 11am. I then had to bake. Not a pleasant experience. Watched Oprah on the bed after lunch. It was a show where some Aussie decorator knocks on peoples doors and they all go in and check out how filthy the house is.
It looked real but I'm sure it was rehearsed. Very entertaining though.
They wave the magic wand and it's all cleaned with new furniture etc. I wish they go back in 6 months. I bet it's the same as before.
The vet can't pick up Benny tomorrow so I'll have to make the trek in with DGS. Should be fun.Benny gets car sick so I'm sure we'll all have a great time.
Ruby I hope your nephew can put it behind him. Our system here is just as bad. Talking about the ridiculous on the news tonight someone asked a Captain (navy) how the Forces would encourage more recruits. He jokingly said that they should put the woman in bikini'sthat should do the trick. Note - this was a joke. The fallout has been unreal. Talk about PC.
CM :kisses3: Very impressive day though.
rmac Hope something comes your way soon.
Well I've probably rambled on too long. Hope you all have a lovely day & <hugs> to those not well. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Good morning all.Just popped in to say hello.I've got to get to daughter's today to let the washer repair man in.Hopefully he'll have the parts he did'nt have last week and then this saga will be over.
It's dull and windy and very chilly here today. So not too pleasant.
I want spring to arrive and soon.
(((hugs))) to all that need them.Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all,
Tru, thanks for the invitation for coffee, I shall definitely take you up on that.
This morning hasn't gone as planned as due to head overload I couldn't sleep last night, when I finally got to sleep I forgot to switch the alarm on, so everyone overslept, OH was late for work (not good on his first week) and I went to wake the kids up to discover that DD had been sick in her bed and had not bothered to wake me up to tell me!!
So she is now at home with me all day and I am having a hard time getting anything done.
Someone please give me a swift kick so I can get motivated?
On the plus side I did have a late night perusal of the Jobcentre website and found an ideal job on there, I rang first thing this morning, and am now waiting a call back as the person I needed to speak to wasn't there.0 -
Morning all.............(((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) if you need one.....
Its very grey and dank, rather wet too......hey ho....
Another day of hospital visits today appointment at 5pm for balance tests for OH, so finally we might get somewhere when all the results are put together.
Nothing planned for today......apart from making the bed and running the hoover over the sitting room carpet........
OH has just risen from his pit, having his brekkie, he is having herb tea, off caffine for 24 hours till he has had these tests. Will have to be ready to go by 3pm they can turn up, up to two hours before the appointment to collect you.........the surgery did not ring, so can only hope that all is well for the transport.
I slept quite well last night but am very tired still....too many disturbed nights over the past 9 months...........
Supper at lunch time today.....we usually eat at 6pm but guess we will still be at the hospital then, so sausage and mash with baked beans and onion gravy me thinks..........then sarnies when we get in later........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

The only reason that I got two loads of washing in before 7.30am was because I woke at 5am with a bunged up nose & a desperate need for coffee :rotfl: I'd like to say that I get up that early every day but I don't, it's a shame really cos I end up getting so much done that it gives me more time on here :T BTW the timer idea is a great one! I follow Flylady and used the 15 minute system in the beginning when I was decluttering every room. It's not too bad now as I'm very strict on the if something new comes in then something old must go out rule  The kids hate itbut am I bothered...................?
Welcome Jollyjojo it's a great forum with the lovliest, friendliest people on. Everyone is very generous sharing their ideas & recipes.0 -
Morning everyone!
Wet wild and windy here in the Hebrides today. Our electricity went off just after 10 pm last night and guess who didn't have a candle on  Think it was off for over 5 hours..... The weather's not meant to be good over the next couple of days at all.
DH took the dog out for a walk this morning in the pouring rain, I knew there was a reason I married him
Had chilli and baked potato for tea last night and think it will be chilli and rice tonight. Used the top oven for my baked potatoes rather than the main fan oven.
csarina - hope your hubby's tests go okay
moggins - I don't do kicking, will a gentle nudge in the ribs do instead?
Jollyjojo - hello and welcome!
Have a good day everyone and don't get blown away by the weather.0 -
I know what I meant to ask, has anyone been watching that new series The Victorian Farm?0
