Black Dog of Depression - can we help each other?

after 30yrs of councelling for depression and anxiety, i have a new councellor who recommended this book ... now before anyone says its not relevant to them, i have found it a revelation, not just to me but to anyone who has been permanently or temporarily separated from their birth mother, i.e. adoption, death, abandonment, surrogacy or illness, even prem babies in incubators... so, if anyone has been through similar separation, this book may be worth looking at..... http://www.nancyverrier.com/prim_book.php
hope it helps someone...

I'm really shaken up.

Was in a car accident earlier and now the shock has set in and I'm all anxious.

Sorry I wasnt trying to be confrontational. I was just wondering how far the NHS was expected to go on a sunday. I think what was offered was the best that anyone could expect and dont know what else could really be offered in the circumstances.Friends,
please forgive me for not having been around for a bit; I'm so sorry.
I'm struggling big time, and not quite up to dealing with some posters who seem to be a tad confrontational. I'm sorry if I'm doing anyone an injustice, but having done a "catch-up" read on the thread, that's how it seems, AbsoluteBounder.
i know that when I was really worried I had something wrong I was quite happy to go and be checked over in a hospital. that was on a saturday.Who I am is not important. What I do is.0 -

I have already said I was happy to go to the hospital but he then changed his mind.
Do you know what I don't need this, I come on here for support not a lecture on how I am a waste on NHS resources and it's all in my head. Maybe you could tell my neurologist that and that my test results are all wrong.
I won't bother coming on here again.Sealed Pot Challenge Member NO. 853 :j0 -
Sandy - don't give up on this thread. There is help and support for you here. The weekend is nearly over and hopefully you can get something done tomorrow to alleviate the rash without compromising your meds. I wish you the best of luck

Hi Unity - I agree with what you said about not being bothered if it has a name or not - I was so releived to find a GP who cared about how I was going to get through each and every day!! Lupus does take a long time to diagnose. There is a definitive test now but its very expensive and has to be physically done in a lab - or so I've been told. Whatever it is I hope you get some relief soon x
Thanks jennihen, I've ended up very dispirited after this last appointment with the rheumatologist, who basically put all my problems down to fibro and CFS. These diagnoses seem to be the umbrella under which docs put everything that they don't have another answer for!
I was dxd back in '94 with a list as long as your arm
including cervical and lumbar spondylosis, scoliosis, early onset osteophytosis, sciatica, a bone cyst in my femur and some neuro problems first dxd as MS, but later ruled out. In addition to this, arachnoiditis, Raynaud's, fibro and CFS. As anyone with fibro/CFS knows, those docs who actually believe in these conditions (an awful lot don't) don't believe them to be degenerative - so how come I feel so much worse? I am so tired I can't function. I come out in blisters on my face - cheeks, lips and chin (painful and itchy) but cranial shingles has been ruled out - after years of taking aciclovir tablets and using the cream .
About a year and a half ago I suddenly developed high blood pressure, after having the exact opposite for all my adult life, to the point of fainting. I became very deaf - (my doc thought maybe my eardrums had perforated during a bout of pneumonia - they hadn't) and I've also now got hypothyroidism. Can this just be due to age?
Okay - moan over
I hope everyone else is as well as can be :hello:. Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

OMG, LadyM, how awful. I hope you're a little better today - shock can make you feel really weird. Take care of yourself. (((HUG)))LadyMorticia wrote: »I'm really shaken up.

Sandy, please don't let one poster stop you visiting the thread:( There's a lot of people here who will offer you support; I know I haven't been around for a few days, and I missed you first posting, but don't give up on us.I have already said I was happy to go to the hospital but he then changed his mind.

I hope everyone's having a decent day today; I'm having a "fun" time typing, as I cut my hand on a guillotine this morning, and the darned thing keeps bleeding. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
