It takes a while for the meds to kick in properly -my GP suggests 6 weeks to see if they work. Its a bit of a suck it and see thing to find one that works well for you but they will.
Some areas have CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) on line which you can do from home. Your GP will be able to advise about this - especially if you're not keen on your counsellor or the waiting list is too long.
I'm currently playing about with a couple of no GP referral sites on the internet so will post the addresses if any seem ok.
P.S My dog is sleeping today. Managed to get out and watch the Boat that Rocked (with free tickets from the Freebies page) so feeling quite chuffed!
I have to admit my managers have left me alone, as I think they know they were a big part of the problem. Its just the one colleague, but I know its not malicious (we are basically each others support amongst a pack of 7 wolves! And without me she too is struggling). I was however brave enough last night to tell her I didn't think I would be back soon (they were having an off duty meeting today, and she wanted to know when I would be back).
I told her about my episode yesterday and she said "oh god, I thought you were feeling better". Am hoping she'll not ask again as it was almost daily. I know myself I am not fit to work I would probably make a mistake or miss something and in my line of work I can't afford to, as it would put lives at risk. I should have sought help a long time ago, and now that I have am going to make sure I'm 100% before I go back, not only for work but also for my 2 children that have also suffered because of the dark hole I find myself in.
On the plus side my dog is not sleeping today, but he is having a few catnaps! Managed to go out and get my hair cut which I haven't been able to since last year!0 -
hey everyone, i'm feeling quite positive today. went out for a group meeting thing, just a support thing to help people to get past various challenges and back into productive working life. loved it. i had a lift there and back but i'm still seeing it as an achievment. was out for nearly 3 hours. then ended up having a barbeque when i got back so totally shattered but all in almost 5 hours out of the house! pretty proud of myself.
on the negative side, i still don't have a washing machine, next week hopefully. and i'm having a crazy allergic reaction to something, but cant work out what it is. oh well, cant have it all.
hope everyone is ok, and dogs being quiet.

I've realised today, from doing accounts, that my dog is one of those dogs that isn't always black. I've wondered this for a long time, but after my few episodes, I'm pretty sure. I wish I could find a middle. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Hey all, everyone's been quiet for a few days. hoping that no news is good news.
Well my dog's been relatively quiet but had bad news last night. my little sister had taken an overdose while drunk, so i had to go to my mams to keep an eye on her after telling her, as she's also depressed and has attempted suicide several times in the past. i didn't want her to be alone with it. my sister seems to be ok now, she's very embarrassed but won't talk about it. wish she would open up. so although the dratted dog's been tolerable, life's a bit complicated and emotional.
waiting for an appointment with my gp. she's on holiday yet again. see her on the 20th. hope fully get something sorted out then.
hope everyone is well.

I had a black dog once but she died. She lived in the closet under the stairs among the large pile of unwashed clothes and old toys. She and our other dog used to fight horridly so my father thought best she go live under the stairs where she later died from the lump some months later. We buried her in the garden.0

hey all, feel like the dog's really snapping at me today. it's stupid, i should be feeling positive, got a fair bit done the last few days. even got the garden dug and planted with grass seed. just feel so tired, and want to burst into tears every two seconds. partener isn't helping, he keeps winding me up. knowing i feel crappy. i have a situation going on with his mam i haven't even told him about as i know he'll take her side. i'm at a loss with it. will bw seeing the doc on the 20th. hopefully she can help set up some therapy and with the physical stuff. just feel like i'm trapped and nothing's gonna get any better.Unfortunately,
