Hi, would just like to agree with the last post about benzo's. Be very careful with them, they ruined my life and that of my Daughter who was damaged by them while I was carrying her. I finally beat the addiction to them but take every opportunity to advise people to be careful.

Hi everyone, can i join you? i'm so lost at the moment i don't know what i'm doing. have had this flaming black dog biting at me since i was a kid. also have ptsd from a very violent relationship, and agoraphobia. i'm a wreck basically. thing is, for the first time in months, i was starting to feel a bit more positive, then i got an eye opener about my mam. it's gutted me. basically, when i was really little my father kidnapped me. he was a nasty violent perverted man. my mam had tried to leave him. her own mother helped him take me. she always told me as soon as she got out of the bedroom, where her mother had locked her in, she came and got me. i can remember her coming in to the house to get me. but yesterday, i found out she was away with her bit on the side, (who's my step dad) conceiving my little sister no less. and left me with my evil father for more than two weeks! with him and my grandmother telling me my mam was dead! she only came and got me cos her mother reported her missing and the police picked her up and got me. i really can't make sense of it. she was never mother of the year. and i looked after my sisters most of the time. but i have kids of my own and i just can't understand how she could have left me there to run off with another man. i haven't spoken to her cos i know i'll end up hysterical and unable to make a point. sorry for offloading all this. i'm just so overwhelmed with it all. don't know what to do.

mustangsal, have you anyone outside the family you can talk about this with? This is something that you may need too explore via clinical routes, maybe a counsellor or other therapist otherwise you will always have it in your mind. You need to get some real help to conquer this and put the past where it belongs so you can be free of it for the rest of your life.

If you haven't already done so speak to your GP and ask for a referral to someone who can help.
