its the weather ! just put heating down a notch and its freezing , wet gloomy day, put heating back up as all joins are painfull , got eye infection OH calling me nelson!! car gone for mot, lucky garage offer collect and deliver back which is a great help , and what time to collect aswell .so this is good for me, my mum and friends also use this garage is good value but old style place , some new places you wonder if they have actually done anything to the car !

Feeling a little better today. Managed to drag myself to my appointment with the counsellor yesterday. Hes giving me some fact sheets on OCD and is going to talk with his colleagues to discuss the best person and treatment for me and if my meds are correct. When I saw a counsellor over a year ago he diagnosed me with OCD, depression and severe anxiety disorder but the guy yesterday was only interested in OCD. He will write to me to let me know what will happen next.

hello everyone

Hope I can join you all. I too have a combination of the black dog and anxiety. I have had to leave several jobs over it, and so I am currently unemployed (and not entitled to anything!) which is only making me more anxious about where money will come from. I am currently looking for a job, but each rejection makes me a little bit worse. I am paying for fortnightly counselling, but it is really more of a chat (not following a program of anything as far as I can tell) but it does seem to make me feel better, on that day at least. Sometimes I want to go out, and some days it seems like the hardest thing in the world. Reading through your posts I do also have a (mainly) supportive hubby who does his best with minimal understanding of the condition. I'm not on meds as I'm too scared to try really.

Hope I can join in supporting each other, as other dep threads have turned nasty and mods have removed any posts about treatment/meds/anything relating to the condition

Hiya moneysavingmonkey , welcome to this nice homely area where you can nag and natter ! Lol yes some people spoil good threads , but just try not to read there threads , have a black list and scroll past them. you say your paying for natter's , but can't you get it free . from your doctor ? my brother does and see's Jeff every week , who is a great help to him, as has no one to talk too. OH won't deal with it or any mega probs they have . we say ohhh poor jeff this week hope he booked a natter for him self !LOL but it helps him talk to us now when we can , they live a long way away.there both made reduntant at xmas and have 3 very young kids. there is always some one worse off than you , when you hit rock bottom it hard to see the light forward , but you are not alone any more , try to keep up with friend invite round for coffee instead of going out to save money , and try to have a very small bit of fun once a week . hugs to all xx

I havent got a doctor at the mo, we just moved, but my last one said he wouldnt put me on the list for counselling, despite frequently feeling suicidal. Helpful! Don't know anyone around here live long way from family, so the coffee invite is pretty much out, but as you say at least OH has job, and no kids thank goodness!
Off for my natter this afternoon. Hope everyone has a good day, its getting quite sunny....

Hi Moneysavingmonkey, and welcome.

I take it you're going to register with a GP once you're over the immediate hassle of moving house? You never know, a new one might be a bit more receptive to the idea of referring you for treatment on the NHS!

I know what you mean about the coffee invite being out - I'm effectively housebound when my husband is at work, and my only real friend lives 40 miles away! But you'll find plenty of cyber-friends here; I certainly find it makes the day go a bit faster.

I will endeavour to find a new doctors! I do find the people here the best!
Someone today complemented a painting I did, and as the first non-relative to see it, it was a small but unexpected boost. a bit silly, but maybe I can have the confidence to do another one soon, or find an art class?
