Just a quick message to say hello, and hope everyone is ok tonight.

It's a funny old day, when everyone else is looking forward to a new year, sometimes when we are not well it is difficult to think that anything will get better. Hopefully 2010 will be the year that proves us all wrong! (I wish I believed what I typed at times!)

I'm off to the pub tonight, always a bit scary but I'm with good friends so I know I'll be well looked after. Hope everyone has a safe and peaceful night x
    Gone ... or have I?

DMG - if you say it enough you will start to believe it ( not wishing to stir up bad vibes but AB's posts on NLP and my own use of positve reinforcement prove that to me)
I'm hoping 2010 brings new challenges and accomplishments for all of us. Why do people who are struggling with depression and physical and mental illness put themselves down so much when in fact we are doing sooo much more than the average Joe? (Answers on a postcard please!!)
I spent 5 hours today with a lady who has battled the odds all her life, and turned it around. She didn't fit into any of society's pigeon holes so she has created her own niche - how amazing is that?
I will never give up or stop trying as long I can see people worse off than me acheiving the life they believe they have a right to.

Sandy - get your tush back on line!!! xxx

I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now. Thought it was time I came in from the cold and say "hi".
My christmas was ok apart from receiving a letter on christmas eve of all days, about my dla renewal saying my care part was being lowered. Do they send them out on purpose then, just to make you worry over christmas? Do they hope that by the time you have found the strength to think about appealing you only have a couple of weeks left in which to do it? The dla people are not good for my mental health!
Anyway, hello to everybody, hope you don't mind my company.

welcome! of course we dont mind your company :)

Work? At what cost Honey? If its making you ill take a break - simples. I'm serious. How much does it cost the state to care for you in hospital for a week? I'm a single mum - the scum of society anyway. The fact that I have a chronic illness and an ex who won't support his children does come into it!!
I've read your threads and I think you're a little fighter. I respect you for that but I don't think you should compromise your long-term health.
My minimum stay in hospital is 3 weeks and I have wonderful help from SS when I'm in but this all costs money. It is our duty NOT to put ourselves in this situation and exacerbate our illnesses to this extent.
Keep up with claim knowing that that is what our welfare system is there for and my personnal wish for you is that, with rest and recuperation, you will find a niche(and happiness).
    Take care babe

You're welcome! Nothing is worth making yourself ill or shortening your life.
You don't always realise this but there are people who love you and people who need you.

Don't ever give up the fight but remember sometimes we have to fall back and regroup. I won't give up on you as long as you don't give up on yourself.

    xx
