LadyM I think a lot of doctors are doing this now - I think it's a ploy not to give us anything to treat the physical problems - a way of saving money. Just my theory. Keep at 'em til you get some satisfaction - 2nd opinion if needs be.

Sandy very well done on telling the doc the truth.

((((HUGS)))) to all of you who lost loved ones around this time of year.

SSM4 I sort of understand - my days are pretty monotonous, as I'm stuck looking at the same 4 walls all day. I know I could get the mobility scooter out, but there's absolutely nowhere to go unless I happen to have a canine guest - town is a bit too far away, and in any case, it's too scary on my own, and I don't have any friends to be able to visit.

Molly I'm sorry, I don't have any advice re the insurance, but I wish you the best of luck getting it sorted.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    I'm furious.

The doctor basically blamed my mental illness for all my symptoms.

He said "You have the symptoms of CFS but it's where to draw the line at a diagnosis and it's probably caused by your mental illness anyway!".

Exercise and Anti-Depressants will cure all my problems apparently.

    !!!!!!!

    I give up.

LadyMorticia I am having exactly the same, a LOT of doctors do not believe in CFS/M.E. even though research is now firmly pointing towards a physical, viral, connection. I am getting the excercise thing pushed at me too most confusingly and annoyingly. :j (that's me jumping up and down in frustration, not doing scissor jumps).

Sorry would like to read everybody's post but just read a bit and LM's jumped out at me. Thought it was the one I put on before at first! Not being ignorant.
Head fuzzy and I'm very 'sensitive' and shy so might just dip in and out occasionally. Hope that's OK. :)

I am just on computer and not doing a lot else at the mo. Looking around at the mess of the house and thinking I should sort it but not doing. Will pull myself together enough to make some pasta and salad for when Hubby comes home.
I have decided I am going to excercise (well in little dribs and drabs 'cos that is all I can do although I don't feel like doing any) every flicking day til my next GP appt after Christmas. He is !!!!!!!!ting me about depression being the only thing they can treat (with tablets and good old excercise) while acknowledging that I do have M.E./CFS. (for which excercise or GET is NOT a cure and can in fact be detrimental) I know he thinks it's all depression (and I've been diagnosed with M.E. by a hospital CFS specialist down the road from the GPs! Why can't they get their flipping story straight on M.E. and all agree?). I know it isn't.
We'll see what he attributes it all to then when that doesn't cure everything.
I want to put a big hug on for everybody but there's only that pervy looking hug icon on the list and I'm not able to post photobucket stuff any more for some reason (maybe it's cos I posted a pic of witch in reply to someone once, ooh naughty naughty).
Big hugs to all, we are all lovely, we are just blighted with this ****ing Black Dog that makes us forget. xx

hey everyone, sorry i've not bee around much.

    Meh.

My psychiatrist wants me to cut out my AD and the AP and go without ANY medication. Despite the fact i told her how doing that has led to previous breakdowns she still insissted i try it. I told my bf, and we very very nearly split up yesterday because of this. He's at the end of his teather, though he told me he doesn't want to lose me, he just wants to lose "this" which i understand completly. I think my osych is just relcutant as it means if i still need help putting me on an AD AND a mood stabiliser, though the mood stabiliser will need to upped slowly.

Atrrrg just feeling !!!!! if i am honest. sorry to bring that misery here.

Here's the one place you can vent!! I'm going to - 3 lots af antibiotics , 3 reducing doses of steroids , a visit from lovely GP last night where I assured him I was feeling much better - woke up this morning, eyes and head burning!! WTH? Think I need to be in isolation so I don't keep catching other peeps bugs!!
been like this on/off since June. Out of breath just typing (and thats with my fingers uncrossed Sandy!!)
Going to get horizontal with the the sofa for the next few hours - kids can sort themselves out.
    Feeble hugs to all x

Made the dinner last night, dropping and spilling and bumbling away merrily. Was nice actually, pasta with Lloyd Grossman sweet pepper (just typed petter) sauce, olives, onions, mushrooms, feta, bagged salad leaves and garlic bread. Was off my food for a while and I'm pretty anhedonic in general at the moment but foodwise have gone back into constant facestuffing mode. Anything fatty, (or salty, strangely) it's down the neck before you can say 'Jack Robinson'. It's just so cold this winter and I'm finding it really hard to keep warm, feet like blocks of ice, maybe that's why.
Anyway, I send a big virtual plate of steaming pasta to you all, eat up you need your strength! xxx

I'm troughing like a pig with its throat cut at the mo - put on 2 stone this year which doesn't help my joints. I've always been able to keep my weight nicely under control despite the steroids.
Was sorting through my old books today - I'm looking for a couple for Unity but the woman I KNOW I lent them to has denied borrowing them!!
    I found a couple I thought I'd recommend:-
Patrick Holford's 'Optimum Nutrition Bible' and '6 weeks to Superhealth'
I really rate him - nutrition is so important but many of us can't faff around with intricate diets.
I work the basic principals of the Arthritis diet and use Non-Dr Gillians' and Carol Applaudhermans' recipes for ideas. As non-processed, fresh and seasonal as possible.
I've also come across Patrick Holford's 'Optimum nutrition for the mind' which is worth reading. Its more of a text book but very informative - has a lot about mental illness. You can order these from your library.

I had a good sleep this afternoon but I'm ready for bed again - today has been a write-off. Oh well - try again tomorrow.
    Night all x
