  • Maybe in the next few years there will be more restrictions but then again stores want to clear things out to make room for new stock so who knows.

Either that or maybe the Inland Revenue will become more stricter on ebay sellers.

A lot of items in my basket had sold out at the end of the day on the 14th but are now back in stock, which I presume is from all the cancelled orders. I guess it leaves us some hope that we can try again from scratch if the the sale ever comes back.

I was after some Sanctuary sets but saw none in Lakeside when I went.

I got to the 'verification of your credit card' page before the site crashed on Wednesday. Phoned CS because there was nothing showing in My Orders and was told it had gone through and would be delivered on 19th Jan. Later that afternoon, after reading everyone's posts, I phoned again and was told the order hadn't gone through as payment hadn't been authorised! Several hours later it appeared in My Orders as 'pending' with a delivery date for the 21st Jan, but with everything at full price  My entire order is still in My Basket as well - also full price.

I haven't done anything about it in the hope the sale will miraculously appear and the prices will change and I can re-order anything that’s still available :rotfl:

But I’m beginning to worry now that they will deliver and I will be charged the full price. Should I phone CS again?

if you have been able to keep up with this thread you will see that i was in the same position as you. i phoned and was told all ok and i felt something wrong. i called back, was told all ok but just as i was putting phone down the girl said order hadn't gone through, even though woman gave me a ref number. anyway, i called back when told to and another lady put through my few bits for me and gave me a diff number, now all gone from basket and showing as at sorting office so fingers crossed i will get mine. im afraid to say that if it is still shown in your basket that it may not have gone through again (as i was told twice it had). good luck and let us know

From previous posts, I don't think Boots can sort this out.

Other people have rung CS & they can't do anything, but you can clear it yourself by following these steps:

    1) Log out of your account

    2) Add something to the empty basket that is definitely in stock

    3) View the basket with the one item in it

    4) Use the "Log in" at the top right hand side of the screen to log back into your account & it brings up your basket in full. Then you need to manually delete any OOS items that are causing the error.

Thanks I've tried that a few times. The basket has been messing around for days now. When I could get into it, I would empty it then go back and find random things in there in multiple quantities. it seems at the moment I have 191 cartons of baby milk which from the generic error I am getting is what the problem is. I've deleted cookies etc but I still keep getting the problem.

    Hi

My order is still showing as pending and I have a delivery number and date for Monday but there is nothing shown in method of payment and I didn't receive a confirmation email.

When I checked the items using my daughter's boots account they seem to still be in stock.

I haven't had a cancellation email so does anyone think that I will still get it or should I re-order if the sale ever comes back online?

    Thanks

Also I had a similar experience on Wednesday when it was like a herd of locusts had decended and stripped everything bare. Some people had several baskets of stuff and were barging past others to get there first.

I also was talking to my daughter about getting a second Iggle Piggle as a present, mentioning that it was in the full price section, when the person next to me literally ran to the shelf and took the last one, saying that she was sorry but .........

She had loads of stuff already and I was just amazed at her audacity.

These sales seem to make fools of us all, I guess!!

I agree that some people have been disgustingly greedy. But I think Boots won't care who they sell it to - their prime imperative is to shift all the stock that's clogging up their stock room!

I placed my order online at 3.17am, my order has changed to despatched and I have had an email saying it will be delivered on Monday. Went to Boots today to get some No 7 things for myself and when I checked the ATM machine my points from my sale order were added to my card, Thought that was strange to get the points before my order!"

Sorry that its not worked for you - I'm getting almost the same thing as you (items appearing from nowhere, when they were originally in my "sale" basket then disappeared on sale day, only to materialise/disappear randomly) & items where the quantity increases hourly (one thing is now showing over 100 - I'm fed up of keep changing the amount back down!!) but luckily, the items concerned that appear/disappear in my basket haven't been generating the error like yours.

I'll keep my fingers crossed these "basket fairies" (or Gremlins!) get fed up & start getting their kicks elsewhere!!
