i like you all just could not believe the cheek of people.... and most of them grabbing to resell....i just wanted a few bits to put away for xmas next year like we have done for the past couple of years... but sadly not this one.... so i hope all the greedy ones feel pleased now....lets hope we will all be first to the sale online to get what we would really like...

I know exactly what you mean. I like e-bay as much as the next person but the down side is that it does mean that the sales/bargain-hunting is spoilt for the rest of us. I was in the QVC outlet shop a while ago and they were putting out bargain priced Birkenstocks sandals. There were a few people there just pushing everyone aside and shoving every pair into their trolleys and not even looking at the size. Clearly they were buying them for resale and the rest of us didn't even get to see if we might find be lucky enough to find one pair in our own size.

I know they aren't doing anything wrong in theory, but when it comes down to it, it is the difference between the letter of the law and the spirit of the law. I agree with you it is greedy - and look where greed appears to have got us all!

they arent listed as sale items, so you have to know what your looking for. Then search. They arent on sale anymore until if and when the sale starts online again.

if you have been able to keep up with this thread you will see that i was in the same position as you. i phoned and was told all ok and i felt something wrong. i called back, was told all ok but just as i was putting phone down the girl said order hadn't gone through, even though woman gave me a ref number. anyway, i called back when told to and another lady put through my few bits for me and gave me a diff number, now all gone from basket and showing as at sorting office so fingers crossed i will get mine. im afraid to say that if it is still shown in your basket that it may not have gone through again (as i was told twice it had). good luck and let us know

Thanks, when I phoned the second time and was told my order was pending I asked if they could take my card details to process the order but she said she wasn't able to because the system wouldn't allow it. Like you I'd only ordered a few items, just for birthdays which are coming up.

Yesterday I emailed CS in the hope of a better response and had this reply this morning.

Thank you for contacting us again.

I have checked your order details and unfortunately the order that is showing as pending in your account has not been confirmed. You will not be charged for this and the order will not be despatched.

If you wish to place this order, you can either call us on 0845 609 0055, or log on to Boots.com and confirm the order yourself. However, any items that had been included in the January sale will be charged at the full price currently showing on the website, as we did have to remove the sale in order to resolve the technical difficulties.

It would have been great if the order had gone through but it's not the end of the world! I just wish I hadn't wasted the best part of Wednesday sitting at the pc thinking 'I'll just give it one more try' :D

Hope more of you get your orders.

what email did you use please? their website email is currently unavailable and i would like to send an email if possible too. thanks.
  • The fact that Boots online had reverted their sale prices back to the pre-sale prices is, I suppose, good news for the people who are dishing out pressies now (the ones bought in the shops at 75% off) as if the recipient is curious as to how much you paid (let's be honest, it happens, lol) they will check online and probably go  :D

Edit: My nephew is getting the Hackett Body Care/Wallet Set and the National Trust radio/reading light for his birthday in a few days. Current online total price is £37! ;)

A few of the St Tropez sets still on sale at the Boots at Kew Retail Park, but not much else in the 75% off aisles. A few of the usual discounts instore, 3 for 2 offers on P+P, 1/3 off on Botanics range etc.
