what are you all talking about?? i have searched the net for boots 75% sale and have not found any, have they got a website?

  • Unknowingly, I went into the big Reading Oracle branch to pick up one of the £4.99 Sony 4gb Memory Sticks, which, inevitably, according to the young bloke behind the counter of 'Photo', were not in stock. I left with 3 packs of Aftershave gift sets worth about £23 and got change from £8! These were big London names and I am extremely happy with my purchase! Although the branch was not as heaving with bargains as it was in the 50% off stage, It still had plenty to go round. I overheard some of the branches more senior staff chatting about the large amount of stock in Broad Street branch, but it closing in about 10 minutes... Oh well! I got my bargains!

I think some people need to get this in perspective, it's only a sale. I wandered in to my local boots at 5pm today and picked up some lovely Ruby and Millie make up, there was a great choice and it was really quiet. Much less stressful that sitting up until all hours on the internet, then posting rants to people who don't really need or want to hear it. This forum is to share information about the sale, and whilst free to give an opinion, I think some calming down is in order!

Nicely said Cam. I decided I would be happy if I got any bargains, but it would just be a nice bonus and not to count on it. I was lucky and managed to get an online order through at about 4pm today so have covered most of my birthday presents for the year, but its really not worth getting worked up over, there will always be more bargains somewhere else.

Bumped into my mum and sister there - all their months of mocking me and Boots and they'd filled their baskets before i'd even got there lol.

LOL I bumped into my parents in my local Boots this morning - good thing I did actually as we were able to compare what we were buying as presents and who it was for and now we won't end up giving the same things to the same people ;)
  • I personally find Cams comments quiet condescending ! Not everyone can get out due to commitments etc .How would you have felt after wandering round the store and all of sudden the tills went down or they had a power cut.
I don't take any of the comments as a rant just people voicing there frustration.

I went into the big Newcastle Eldon Square store this afternoon and the shelves were absolutely bare upstairs! Not a thing left. Only a few bit and pieces downstairs.

Don't know if this has been posted or if its in all Boots, but the very small perspex photo frames (the magnetic ones on metal legs) are going through at 36p (reduced from 6.00). This one:

Popped to a small store this teatime, so many empty shelves! Did get a few bits including a photo calendar for about £1.67, a Gillette razor and watch set for about £2.88 and a Royal Jelly cosmetic bag gift set for £2.47.
There were a few Christmas sets, some No 7 stuff, a few keyrings, and a few hundred razor sets left, that's about it really.
Tempted to try another store tomorrow and put a few bits away for birthdays/Christmas (it's pay day tomorrow LOL!)

So, after all that palava this morning with Boots crashing on me I decided to head to Boots before my interview. Nothing much left but I did get a Ruby and Millie Nail set, a No7 make up set and some smellies. Nothing like what I had in my basket online though! I was surprised to see the toys in my store were at the usual price though and not in the sale, even though these toys are in the sale online, what's up with that? Is that the same for every store? And there was some woman in the store filling up her 3 baskets with everything she could lay her hands on, greedy, greedy woman argh!

Anyway, I am patiently waiting (NOT) for Boots to sort it out and get their sale back up online and hopefully I will get some of the things I was looking for. I hope everyone who has been desperate today can get some things too.
