  • When is a bargain not a bargain ... when it is on the Boots Website and it does a disappearing act!
I am demented with this site today - I stayed up and tried from approx 3am til I went to work to try and order and did I manage... NO!! Just put it this way my least favoured word at the moment is GENERIC!
I can't use the Internet at work (well not for personal use) so I had to wait til I got home and then found the site was down .. what a surprise (NOT)
Well I managed to add somethings to my basket (quite a few were out of stock) and went right thru to the payment stage but being charged the full price without the 75% being deducted.

I have just spoken to the poor lady on the Boots Customer service helpline who informed me that yes I could buy the goods but I would have to pay the full price and wouldn't be able to claim a refund for the 75% overcharge. She informed me that the only way they coulf get the site up and running again was to remove the 75% reduction!
She said they have been informed to tell customers that the site should hopefully be up and running again with the 75% reduction by the end of the week but they cannot guarantee it!
I guess I will lose out on the bargains as I will be a work most of the day. It is so frustrating tho that this happens on a site belonging to a National Company ... I know I had some problems last year with the sales order but gee this years has made last years seem insignificant.

Just wondering if they can actually do this .. charge one price in the shop (75% reduction) and the full price on the site and refuse to honour the shop price and make a refund on the web. overcharge. Any comments/advice please Martin?
  • Salisbury Boots had shelves full this morning but only a couple of items left this evening after work. My friend & I queued up B4 w orktoday it was great fun and we both saved loads !!! Really pleased I did not try to order online !!!!
The shop assistant in Salisbury said that they were not getting in anymore stock to put out (unlike last year apparently) but maybe with the online store down they will ship it out to be sold !!! We can but hope XXX

I've queried offers and prices before and they say that sometimes the stores and .com have different offers. If that is allowed I guess they can have 75% in store and not online. Pure guess though, I've no idea of the legalities.

Broclo has poted on the Boots grabbit thread that hey may send stuff out to the stores and remove it from online but who knows. Good luck to everyone still after a bargain.

I think boots have just added to my list of worst ever sales! Next was rubbish this year and now boots. It was bad enough they've tried to fob us off with keeping most of the toys out of the sale. But now doing away with online too. The online bit was where I was relying on getting what few toys they had this year, and now I cant! With the loss of Woolies I think they'll open wider into toys, which is why they've not put so much in the sales this year. Bloomin boots have bloomin annoyed me today! Arghh!!!
  • I managed to get online at the right time this afternoon got right through to the confirm your order ,had inputted my card details then site went down . I've managed to back in to my account and check order history and it is showing my order as processing so hopefully I'll get what I've ordered !!!!!!
Does anyone know what stock is like in Derby store ???

It seems they can charge whatever they like. I had a complaint in recently when I paid significantly more for items in store than i later found them to be online. I was told unequivocally that Boots and Boots online are run as two separate entities and there will most definitely be regular price differences and they won't price match.

So, if this applies in normal circumstances I would very much doubt it wouldn't at sale time.

I got a few things in Salisbury this morning but was disappointed at all the bratz girls things not being in the sale as last year I got the make up sets and toothbrushes and put them away for birthday presents.
