Ordered online about 2 weeks ago, by opening an account. Then got a phonecall to say that the account would not have enough in it to pay for tv. So I paid full amount by Credit Card over the phone and was told it would be in stock on 7th Feb. Called yesterday, the 8th, and surprise, surprise!!! they had no record of me paying by card, next batch due in on the 17th Feb. Called my Card Company & no money had been taken.

Let's see what fun happens next week!!!!

Hi all just to let you know my Dealings with freemans on this matter of purchasing a sammy 32 lcd via the 25% and 20% code

I spoke with them yesterday with regard to a order i placed around 23/24 January, asking for a update on when i was going to recieve my television as the dates where changing on a weekly if not daily basis.

I had been told by 3 seperate people on there 0800 and 0870 numbers my order had been accepted (up until yesterday !!!) and the only reason i hadnt recieved it using the 25% code was a stock problem and when it arrived i would have 1 dispached.

Anyway i decided to chase this up yesterday to find out if i could tie them down to a date as it was over 3 weeks and several confirmations of order acceptance and confirming it was on there screen at £675.00 :rotfl: with 25% discount. I spoke with a lady who said there was a letter in the post saying my order could not now be forefilled and had been cancelled

I asked why after being told by many other customer services my order was accepted on many occasions and even signed a credit agreement with them and sent it back a week earlier. The excuses followed like this :rotfl: quote

1/ Im sorry but the 25% code you used wasnt accepted and we have cancelled your order.

I replied by saying but ive been told by 3 other people its confirmed and she said well im sorry i dont know why they told you that. So i poilitely asked could i use a 20% discount code to be told im sorry the 20% code is not available and i said but for new customers it says it is its all over your website and other websites to which she said im sorry but thats a technical issue and its being dealt with and i responded by saying but the code has been in my leaflets you sent with the catalogue as well and she reponded i need to talk with my supervisor. I waited 5 minutes on a 0870 number to be told well we can take the 20% discount but not on the 32" sammy as we are getting no more in its not going to stocked no more do you want something else instead. I said no i want that television and surely it wasnt going to be discontinued as i knew people where recieving them as per a website i went on lol.

She again went away to speak to a supervisor and said we can take a order but not for that television as the real reason now was that it was over a £200.00 new customer credit limit and repeated all the above again about order accepted unfortunately not in writing  and asked well could i buy it still with 20% discount and i would use the £200.00 credit limit and pay the difference on my switch to which she said yes i could and would speak to supervisor. She came back to say sorry no they now couldnt do that i could buy it at £899.00 paying £699.00 on switch and £200.00 on interest free credit and even that was bending the rules lol she said as a favour to me hahahaha. I then offered (to get the television which i knew by now i wasnt going to get !!!) to buy it at full price cash minus theThe 20% discount only to be told it only applies to orders up to the new customer £200.00 credit limit and on nothing else she said so finally we got to the real reason for none acceptance of the order and when i said it said nothing on there site regarding this they said it was the rule whether they put it on there or not and i said i doubt it that trading standards would see it like that to be told we deal with them all the time and have a great relationship with them :rotfl:
So anyway i said my piece about there service to be asked if there was anything else they could do for me lol and i told her what i thought of there customer services but obviously with restrained anger and no expletives and asked to speak with her supervisor she kept putting me on hold to speak to and she said she was sorry she wasnt there omg it gets worse, she hung up on me.

Im sorry all but if you get this television or anything over £200 with a discount code you are going to be very lucky and wish you all the best with it and ultimately its like they say nothing ventured nothing gained but omg i bet there getting some cash via there 0870 number :( as i have noticed that over the last week they have taken 1 of the options for querrying a aspect of your order on the 0800 number from the option menu and put it on the 0870 number instead meaning you are having now to use the 10p a minute number instead of the free number and are milking this situation and adding confusion to get extra income from your telephone enquires and to clarify your orders

Ps i still want a sammy 32 bd lcd if anyone knows the best place to get 1 please let me know.

Hope the above clears up a few queeries lol

Words of advice all is take everything and anything freemans say with a very large pinch of salt.

dazuk, try ordering it via their website with the 20% discount code and paying in full with credit card. There is nothing on their site about orders over £200, the only criteria is that the min order must be £40. I did this yesterday after similar problems as you and my discounted price was shown immediatley and the 5% quidco cashback also showed up almost immediatley. Not saying I'm going to receive the TV but they can't make up their T&C's as they go along and until they address " this so called technical issue" they should accept the order.

They don't actually charge you when you order - i'm in the same boat.

If you call this number 01142637077 they will be able to find your order. I think the standard customer services people are told not to deal with any payment in advance orders.

You are quite correct there. The standard customer service people have NO way of tracking orders that have been paid in full by credit card ie You don't have an account with them
They will refer you (Or should if they actually know what they are doing!!) to what Freemans call "Casual Cash Sales" which is the contact number above.
How do I know? Well, when I ordered my TV I spent all weekend trying to speak to the standard customer service and only after 6 phone calls they told me I need to speak to another department!! DOH!!!
  • If you resign yourself to the fact that you'll only get 20% off then visit 1staudiovisual.co.uk it may cost you about an extra £30.00 for the tv

Hi all again i have just had it confirmed that ALL ORDERS OVER £200.00 ARE NOT HAVING THE 20% CODE APPLIED, no matter how you pay, the first £200.00 is eligable for the discount, meaning you will get a maximum discount of £40.00. I suggest if you wish to queery this you phone the 0800900200 to clarify the situation of your order press option 1 or 2 or 3 and dont let those options pass or it tells you to ring the 0870 number and disconnects you. When the person answers and they tell you they cant help with your enquiry ask them to transfer the call to the 0870 and they can as they have done twice with me and therefore the call remains free as its there transfer internally.
Sorry but if your order hasnt arrived and still proccessing no matter what they say i would forget it unless you are prepared to pay £699.00 into your account and waite 3 days for it to clear then reorder the television at £899.00 get 20% discount on the first £200.00 and get £40.00 credited back to you and £200.00 still on terms with freemans to be paid back in instalments. Ultimately you are paying £859.00 for a tv you can get on the net cheaper.
Still wishing you luck hahahahaha, do you feel lucky now ????? :rotfl:

Have you even tried ordering it via their website? Like PHDA I ordered it via their site with the 20% code automatically applied and have the e-mails etc as proof of the discounted price I should be paying. I will be interested to see if they try and charge me full price or £859 when my discounted price should be £720.
