Why when the website clearly says 20% off first order, at the checkout page all it said just click checkout to receive discount

gogsboy before you click the button to pay there is a page that shows you the discounted amount you have to pay. You would have needed to have either entered the 20% off code manually in one of the four boxes or if you clicked on the 20% banner on the site it would have automatically entered it for you. Since your dad I’m guessing did neither then unfortunately he has been billed for the full whack. I would get him to call Freemans and cancel the order and then re-order via the site again using the 20% off code this time. Make sure that before he clicks yes to order the price you are paying shows 20% off their website price.

PHDA yes I went through quidco but I haven't checked my account yet, can't seem to log on at the mo.

If it said that on the front page when you visited the site then its more than likely the code was entered automatically in the discount box. I had an e-mail from customer services yesterday that informed me the discount should be deducted automatically ( i.e show the discounted price but if not they take off the 20%. It could just be their wedsite and when they get your order they will see you used the 20% discount and will deduct it for you.

I found a picture, ALLEGEDLY of one Ms. Gibbs processing some internet orders.

I bet their customer services are earning their money at the moment - I bet they wish they'd never heard the word Samsung!

Well wait til they come back to stock:|
  • I was expecting delivery last Monday, it never come. I called up to find out why it wasn't deliverd. I was told that i had been given a credit limit of £200 and that they are waitng for the item to come into stock so they can cancel my order.

I told them to cancel it now and close the account.

Ahh well my CRT will do for another year untill the prices come down.

I think everybody is getting different stories from Freemans lol
You have to laugh cos some of their staff don't have a clue!!! :rotfl:
My confirmation email shows the full price for the 26in TV as I ordered using a 25% discount code (TUT TUT) which obviously hasn't gone through.I have since spoke to the "Casual Cash Sales" team and they have CONFIRMED to me,on more than one occasion now that I will get 20% discount deducted AFTER the item has been despatched (They said anything upto 48 hours after despatch - My TV will stay in its box until I can see a refund on my credit card for obvious reasons though! lol)
They are soooo inconsistent though aren't they? :wall:

How many other people received a letter in the post this week saying that due to lack of stock my TV would be delivered in around 24 days? (Date of letter was 31st Jan)

I took screen shots, the screen said 20% off and he added it to basket, then whilst in the basket it said just click checkout below and we'll automatically deduct your discount.

gogsboy, I think you should be OK mate. Resond to your invoice e-mail and check, although they can take 24hrs to respond.

CCFC, couldn't agree more. Its not that hard to update a website. All they have to do is add proper T&C's and state exactly who is eligible for the discount and on what items. Maybe the developer of the site had an after school club so he not home yet. Once he's had his fish fingers he might have time to update it.
