Just had this e-mail from good ole Sarah,

    Thank you for your e-mail.

At present your payment method is still being verified and unfortunately this may take up to four working days due to the card authorisation process. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Once your payment has been authorised the item will be despatched out for delivery at which point you will be contacted by our carriers to confirm a date and time for delivery.

We hope this is of assistance to you and if you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us again by e-mail at customer.services@freemans.com or by calling our Answerline on 0870 606 6099.

TV was ordered yesterday with 20% code via net (payment with credit card), looks like the order may go through if they are trying to debit my card. Looks like they've also changed the e-mail address to customer.services@freemans.com, probably to give little Sarah a rest. She must have been at her desk for 24hrs a day over the last couple of weeks. ;)

When I spoke to them this morning, they confirmed that they had over 500 outstanding orders for the 26" Sammy. She couldn't say whther it was first come first served, or account holders first - couldn't confirm how many panels were expected in. Can't see them being able to honour all 500 myself.
  • Well, I emailed Ms Gibbs today to see how my order [ordered 31 Jan - due 7th Feb] was progessing and received the following reply. Today, I also received written confirmation of my order @ £720 with delivery now showing as a 7 day delay.

Thank you for your email regarding your order detailed below.

Item No Size Qty Item Description Price
    38C4041 SAMSUNG 32" IDTV LC 720.00

On checking your account we can confirm that this item is on a delay. However, stock is expected around 16th February.

Assuring you of our best attention at all times.

If you have any further questions or comments about the service we offer, please contact us - we're here to help.
When replying to this e-mail, please attach your original e-mail to ensure a speedy and accurate response.

    Kind regards,
    Sarah Gibbs

26" Sammy has gone back up to 14 days delivery now (back to the original date of 24th Feb they stated)

I can't really see the freeview tuner being a major issue, after all, you'll initially need a sky HD box to benefit fully from the TV.

and how cheap are freeview boxes now anyway? i saw one in MACRO the other week for £20

Well.... This may offer some encouragement to those who've ordered using the 20% code.

    1. I ordered the Samsung 32" last Sunday 5th Feb via Quidco (so the 20% first order offer was visible on the homepage and the code automatically appeared in my basket) paying in full by Visa.
    2. I also ordered the Toshiba XS24 DVD recorder with 160 GB hard drive.
    3. The discount appeared in the basket just before confirming the order (£720 for the Samsung and £256 for the Toshiba. £976 total against the full price which would have been £1,220)
    4. Got the confirmation email from Sarah (I feel we know her now!) which also confirmed the discounted price. I received no other correspondence.
    5. The 5% appeared next day as tracked in my Quidco account (£48 odd)
    6. The Toshiba DVDR turned up today!

Woohoo. Looks like we're in business! Roll on the TV delivery.

I'll update here when the TV arrives but the 20% is real and what's been delivered so far is over £200 contrary to a previous post on here.
    BE NICE - IT'S FREE!

I think the confusion with the £200 mx order is if you try and open a personal account with credit terms i.e you want to pay over 50 weeks. Then then impose a max credit limit based on your circumstances.

If you order on the net and pay in full with credit card there is no credit agreement and as long as your card is accepeted you should be able to purchase what you want up to the credit limit on your card with the 20% discount.
