Just so you know John Lewis only match internet retailers prices where they are based at a physical location, have a telephone number and actually have the item in stock. Do you know of any e-tailers who have actual shops, the item in stock and whose website price is £830?0 -

Try Gultronics in London - the 32" IDTV is £841. Apparently someone on avforums pricematched them with JL. http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=262433&page=37
Hope this is useful...0 -

Yes, but i cant remember the name. Website is orange - predominantly internet sales BUT they have a showroom in Manchester0 -
Phoned up freemans today with the 20% off code there staff told me yesterday and she said i will get the 26" for £479-99 on the 18/2 when stock comes in. paid by card via phone aswell.0

the 20% code is definately genuine, for example go to https://www.wanadoo.co.uk then shopping then A-Z of stores then pick D-L and click on Freemans - the freemans site will open with the 20% off Offer on the first and subsequent pages right through ordering. It's the same if I follow the freemans link from rpoints.

Just checked mine - order with 25% code has also been cancelled, letter in the post to confirm it. Customer Service rep said that the code wasn't even a Freemans code and was being posted on the web by a third party who had found a glitch in the system?!?
The nice lady reordered it with the 20% first customer code and delivery should be on the same date as before (18th Feb or so).
On the point of people using the 25% code being greedy - that isn't always the case. After having one internet order cancelled, I placed the second one over the phone just so I could check with a rep that I had permission to use the code. I was told yes and the code went through OK, only to be cancelled today. I'm not going to quibble over 5% (having decided this is the LCD I want I'd probably pay full whack as its the cheapest around), but not everyone who used the 25% code was doing so sneakily - I gave them every chance to say no you can't use that code, but they happily accepted my order stating it was valid.0 -
So whos ordered with 20% 1st order code and it should be recieved on the 18th?0

i've been told my 32" will be in stock on the 13th...
but last week i was told it would be in on the 6th...
and i expect next time i ring it will be in on the 20th...0 -
hurdy, I think the rep was telling a little porky. The code was a Freemans code but apparently it was supposed to expire on the 5th Jan . Its validity was not picked up on their system which is why all the initial orders went through. When Freemans found out how many orders were going through for TV's they cancelled all orders with the 25% code (unless they had already been dispatched). Simple as that.
They fell down due to their lack of customer care because they did not tell anyone their orders were cancelled even though they had written confirmation the order was accepted. If you used a 20% code then everything should be OK. Although a customer care manager also told me the 20% is really only supposed to be for Personal account holders where they set you a limited credit (to prevent you ordering large value items). sales reps have been letting people pay any excess with credit card which is also is not valid but I think these orders will go through also.0 -
Yeah, that sounds more plausible. Like I said, I'm chuffed with 20% but will believe it when it arrives.
I've been looking around some other forums, and some people have been told that Freemans staff were told not to accept discount codes on orders for TVs from last week. I've had plenty of confirmation emails confirming exactly how much I would pay with the 25% code, so I wonder if someone has been tasked with going through all the existing orders and cancelling those with discount codes?
I opened an account with them and my credit limit is OK, so fingers crossed for the 18th I guess...0
