Oh and just to be annoying, if you get the 20% discount, the Toshiba RD-XS24 DVD recorder with 160 Gb hard drive is the cheapest you can get it too at £256.BE NICE - IT'S FREE!0 -
Well i think its time to look elsewhere for a Samsung 26" IDTV LCD for £599.99 (£480 with discount 20%)

Any ideas?0 -
It wild be up to the court to decide when a contract was formed. Your case would be very weak if no money actually changed hands, even then when money was taken it isn't a dead cert that you would win.
Companies use there terms and condition to hide behind often but that isn't always a reason not to full fill orders.
They appear to have made several mistakes, incompetent, yes but that's doesn't mean you still win, although you have every right to be annoyed and angry. I am sure that they ain't all that bothered as many customers are only taking advantage and probably wont shop there after the sale. I am not saying everyone is doing that.0 -

LCD TVs are being released at an alarming rate, prices going down all the time. It won't be long before another deal comes along.
If you can be patient (how badly do you need it?), keep an eye on the usual bargain sites and forums and I'm sure something will show up0 -
hmm well main tv just broke so needed replacement, can wait maybe but the samsung 26" was perfect for £4800

OK, just to add more weight to the validity of the 20% first order discount here's what you can do:
Go to Freemans.com (even if all you see is the Valentines offer)
Click 'help' at the top. A popup will open prompting you to search for help.
Type in 'discount'
Then you will see a selection of frequent questions, one of which is:
'How do I claim my 20% discount off first orders with you?'
to which they respond:
'Welcome to Freemans. To help kick-start your shopping, we’d like to offer you 20% off your first order with us. Make a note of the Offer code before you start shopping, and remember to enter in the box provided on the shopping bag page. This offer is only valid for new customers spending £40 or more in a single transaction with Freemans.'
So even though they don't say what the 20% code is (my CAPITAL motto for this code is 'Discount Really Enhances Price') they still refer to it.
Also, if you do want to see the 20% offer on the Freemans homepage, go to https://www.quidco.com, search for 'Freemans' (you do not have to join Quidco to do this) then click on the Freemans link. Then (if you aren't a member) there is a link which says 'click here to visit this merchant without receiving cashback' which will open a Freemans window with a shiny 20% offer on. Then, when you hit checkout, the code will already be in there for you.
Happy Days, Freemans are asking me to do an online survey about their site. Woohoo!BE NICE - IT'S FREE!0
