I paid by card for mine but i am still hopeful it will arrive.
Unfortunately for freemans their terms make no mention of the 'must use account' stipulation. After debating with a sales rep who then went to see their manager I was allowed to use the voucher. No confirmation though because its a telephone credit card sale, might request one later.

So whos ordered with 20% 1st order code and it should be recieved on the 18th?

I ordered the 32" Samsung and the Toshiba RD-XS24 DVD recorder with the 20% discount and so far it's not been cancelled. Also it's appeared as tracked on my Quidco account so fingers crossed.

God knows when it'll all turn up!

  • Just to add a little fuel to the fire.

I ordered the 32" Samsung and got my 20% discount as shown on my internet account. However after doing research and seeing the picture quality for myself I can tell you it isn't worth all this hastle even for a bargain price.

The picture quality of both Sky and DVD's is appalling for what you are paying. I cancelled my order and bought a portable £100 Philips TV from Argos instead and am pround and very happy with my purchase. I'm even more pleased that I kept all that money in my pocket, I'd have been so fed up. For a 360 hardcore gamer its a bargain, but for the rest of you prepare for disappointment.

Please look in to what you are buying people, think you'll be disappointed even for a bargain price.

ddavis, yes I agree with you. The terms on T&C's on their site are virtually non-existant. The 20% is still on their site now if you go through certain portals i.e Quidco and it clearly states in their Help section that everyone is entitled to a 20% discount on their first order irrespective of how you pay. There is no mention of it is only meant to be for Personal account holders. I'd like to see how they respond if someone uses the 20% code on their website and pays the balance in full via credit card.

You sure you plugged it in right? Its one of the best tv's on the market... I've seen them in numerous setups and look great in all. Of course if you stand a few feet (literally) the picture will look blocky - thats standard, find me a flat tv that doesnt do it for analogue! Mine will be suitably mounted on the wall which is a good 11 feet from my sofa. HD obviously makes it look mint from anywhere.

Just for reference - if anyone ever needs a copy of these terms I have a screenshot saved... You never know when they might 'change' overnight.

Geoggy, do you need anger management. It was just my thoughts.

To me HDTV's time will come and I still intend to buy one but it has to get better than the feeds I've seen. A HDTV will be in its element when HDTV signals are received and until then the best quality you can get is a CRT. The best I've seen is a panasonic and that picture was very good, but to get a very good picture you need to pay a high price.

I just want to warn people to check it out if they expect anything better than a CRT for a normal DVD or Sky/Cable feed.

The deal offered by Freemans is good but I think the majority are basing on the fact of seeing a 360 in action not a live feed.

Please don't insult me, they are my honest opinions.
  • I ordered the 32" Samsung on Mon and recieved conf. email with 20% disc taken off. My order is also being tracked by Quidco which hopefully is good news. The original mail stated delivery in 7 days.

Am I to expect a confirmation of delivery date by letter or email?

I'm just keeping everything crossed...

Installed the sammy for my father-in-law monday, I'm so jealous the picture through the inbuilt freeview is stunning.

Not sure if anybody else has picked this up but, you cannot at present record freeview, with either a dvd recorder or a vhs recorder.
It's a known problem, when you tune the sammy into the channel, all you get is perfect sound and an awful fuzzy picture.
Therefore I'm now trying to get a dvd recorder with inbuilt freeview, but one with a decent HD is very expensive, may have to install the old freeview box after all.
Not having another box under the TV was one of the reasons for getting this TV, but at the price its still an excellent bargain.

Hope this helps anyone thinking of getting this set. The picture is superb, I've installed loads of TV's and this blew me away, roll on High Def.
