I think basically, Freemans have had a cutoff point on Tuesday this week where they are not accepting any more orders using any of the discount codes (I've heard from their staff they are losing money on these TV's by selling them at -20% or -25%)
I placed my original order last Friday using the 25% off code, only to be told by a customer service lady on Monday this week the code had expired and was told I could reorder via the website and use a 20% discount code (Which she gave me whilst speaking to her)
I did this straight away only to receive an email last night from Sarah Gibbs at Freemans saying I'd used an invalid code and again the discount would not be applied!!!
Just spoke to them AGAIN and the lady said as I'd ordered in time they would honour the 20% discount so I now have 2 Samsung 26in IDTV's on order due at the end of February. (I actually thought they'd cancelled my original order but they hadn't so I told her to leave it on as my brother in law is in the market for a new lcd)
So,if you've ordered before Tuesday this week, dig your heals in with them and make sure you get the 20% discount! :)

    Good luck

    Nick

Phoned up about mine today, ordered on the Tuesday and got 25% off but woman said they are awaiting stock on the 16th Feb now (was 6th previously) so I should get it after that.

Which number did you phone to check the status of your order. I don't like 0870 numbers, and have seen two other numbers mentioned in this topic. One was 0845 and the other 0800, so which one should you use to check orders made online?

I ordered on Saturday and have had no email since the initial confirmation, so does this mean it's going through OK?

Press the F5 button and see if its still there.

Pressed F5 lots and the "20% off first order" offer still shows for me, next to an attractive young lady with a lacy top!

Maybe it doesn't show if you already have an account and you are remembered by the website when you re-visit.
  • Placed my order a week ago and have had an email stating the 25% code has expired and they have cancelled my order!

Seems like another cop out! Has anyone got confirmation of whent he code whould expire?

Found this explanation on another site discussing the topic.
When you place an order it places a cookie on you computer so that when you go to the link it does not show. Go to the link on a different computer and it will be there. Look at the link in the address bar and you see it mentions 20%, picks the cookie up.

    and this.
Delete Your Cookies In Internet Options, Then Go Back To Link Code Drep Is Then Added.
  • screw ringing them, just fill in a complaint form to trading standards and the ASA

why is it people wave the trading standards banner when they don't get a deal they aren't entitled to?

you are going to need to prove that you were entitled to the discount voucher, probably by providing the email which they sent it to you in. this will of course (if you had it) have an expiry date.

all because you were greedy, you could have gone for the 20% new customer route (and if you did they have no legal leg to stand on, i hardly needed to argue to get mine resolved) and all would be solved. If you weren't greedy and did use the 20% then just ring them and point them in the direction of their FAQ. The terms for the voucher are in there, no maximum spend is listed and no mention of having to set up an account.
