hurdy wrote:Although I haven't sorted out my mess yet, I think it is safe to order over the phone. The problem seems to be internet orders as they are dealt with by a different department - you can't speak to them, emails take at least 24hrs to be answered so it is impossible to have a conversation and the customer helpline don't have any records of internet sales on their systems.
If you ring up they will confirm the order has gone through and you can call back and check the order at any time. The problem with using the 25% code is that you need to open an account which involves a credit check. I have been informed that often your initial credit will be limited to £100-£150 until you have placed an order and paid successfully. This will obviously mean that you cannot buy a £600 TV and your order will be rejected after 5-7 days.
The only way I can see to be sure is call up, use the 20% code (place the TV in your shopping basket, go to checkout and it will appear automatically in the box) and pay by credit card. No credit check, no chance of your order being declined and you have still saved £120. If they refurse the code, refer them to their FAQ section where it clearly states
"How do I claim my 20% discount off my first order with you?
Welcome to Freemans. To help kick-start your shopping, we’d like to offer you 20% off your first order with us. Make a note of the Offer code before you start shopping, and remember to enter in the box provided on the shopping bag page. This offer is only valid for new customers spending £40 or more in a single transaction with Freemans"
No mention anywhere of having to open an account.
so basically, do what i've been saying for the past 14 pages...
They gave me 650£ credit... Wouldn't let me pay the extra by card. Mines sorted now anyway, paid by visa for the whole thing0 -
Does anyone know what the difference is between the 2 LCD TV's that show up on the Freemans site? One of them is called IDTV yet both models look exactly the same.
Also has anyone got this TV hooked up to an Xbox 360 yet? What are the results like?0 -
Integrated Digital TV i think - so freeview basically
they look the dogs danglys with an xbox 360 - hence why they are used as part of the 360 demo stations all over the uk (admittedly a 15" version)0 -
Smart. I well can't afford one at the mo' but I think temptation is going to get the better of me!0

Am I the only person who would not buy one of these because they look so ugly with the pointy bit at the bottom ? I think the beauty of the new generation LCD TVs is the sleek rectangular look. This is definitely a retro look of some sort.0

yep, I think you might be! Seriously though, these have been highly rated by consumer magazines (at the £1000 price) and the 26" one is £750 in the new Argos catalogue - £630 is the cheapest I've seen elsewhere. So, £480 (0r £450 if you're lucky) is a very good deal!
Still, you have to live with it and if you have the money to spend on a considerably more expensive telly at the same quality because you prefer the look, then fairenoughski...0 -
I'm not going to be looking at the pointy bit at the bottom. I'll be looking at the high definition picture. Oh yes!0

I just orderd on the phone and gave the M code in for a 25% discount, they said it was only a 20% discount.
Is this right or can i get the 25% somehow?0 -
I know this is slightly off the topic but what's going on with the time on the posts?!?!?! The last few say 11.50am and 12.30pm- but it hasn't reached 11.35 yet!! Am I going mad?0
