I'm tempted to get the 26" LCD with the 20% offer (can't be bothered to mess around trying to order with the 25% code at HotDeals even if it's a different code to the one talked about earlier on).
DDavis you mention that there is nothing in the T's & C's about which item/s or price the 20% voucher applies to, can you give me a link to the part about the voucher use please?
Also anybody else who order with the Freemans 20%, can you let us know if it went through ok straight away or if you needed to call up and got the mess around?0 -
I got an email on Friday evening, anyone else get this?? :
Thank you for your recent order.
However, the code you have used is no longer valid, this has expired.
You may reorder the goods at the full price.

Which dept. did you call? and how are you sure they will actually honour what they said? I think that in cases like this it might be best to ask for them to fax you through a hardcopy confirmation that they will honour said deal.
**Edit**
Forgot to ask if you actually placed the order with them (while on the phone) after you requested the catalogue?0 -
i havent placed any orders yet, they said that its the new customer code only and u have to create an account in order to get the discount, they will probably get money back from opening new accounts0

I queried that with them and they said............
'Thank you for your email regarding your order.
The discounts, free gift and offer codes do not show on the email
conformation, but will show on the despatch note, once you receive
the goods.
The discount has been adjusted on the item.
Assuring you of our best at all times.'0 -
Although I haven't sorted out my mess yet, I think it is safe to order over the phone. The problem seems to be internet orders as they are dealt with by a different department - you can't speak to them, emails take at least 24hrs to be answered so it is impossible to have a conversation and the customer helpline don't have any records of internet sales on their systems.
If you ring up they will confirm the order has gone through and you can call back and check the order at any time. The problem with using the 25% code is that you need to open an account which involves a credit check. I have been informed that often your initial credit will be limited to £100-£150 until you have placed an order and paid successfully. This will obviously mean that you cannot buy a £600 TV and your order will be rejected after 5-7 days.
The only way I can see to be sure is call up, use the 20% code (place the TV in your shopping basket, go to checkout and it will appear automatically in the box) and pay by credit card. No credit check, no chance of your order being declined and you have still saved £120. If they refurse the code, refer them to their FAQ section where it clearly states
"How do I claim my 20% discount off my first order with you?
Welcome to Freemans. To help kick-start your shopping, we’d like to offer you 20% off your first order with us. Make a note of the Offer code before you start shopping, and remember to enter in the box provided on the shopping bag page. This offer is only valid for new customers spending £40 or more in a single transaction with Freemans"
No mention anywhere of having to open an account.0 -

Well the £100-£150 credit limit might explain why so many internet orders have failed to go through properly.
I guess 20% isn't bad, just need to find some cash now0 -
I am an existing Freemans customer and wanted to order one of these TVs for my parents so I used my dad's details and paid with my credit card.
When the email confirmation came through the 25% hadn't been deducted.
What's the best way of cancelling this order and re-ordering with the 20% code? Can I cancel the original order by email?Hopeless by name, hopeless by nature.0
