Get the one with freeview the LCD analogue tuner looks poor in comparison to the freeview tuner. The LCD IDTV has a built-in freeview and analogue tuners and the difference is incredible.

Try taking the aerial lead directly to the TV instead of looping through the vcr or whatever you have and then do an analogue channel scan Poppycat. This made my analogue almost as quality as the freeview, seems it didnt like the passthrough on my vcr.
Also Samsung realised now the mistake on the 4:3 and will send another over air firmware update in March. They are recommending you rollback to the earlier version for the time being.
All Dell'd up ;) several times over :)

Thanks

I use a pvr Humax 9200t, The Humax are renowed for decent pass throughs and quality compenents. I doubt it would make much difference in picture quality, I dont use a vcr and havent for years.

Is this offer still on? Can you still order by phone? Only that the 20% off for new customer discount isn't showing on the website. Does anyone know the code for the 20% off?

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned before but... According to Freemans recommend a friend page here:

https://www.freemans.com/web/main/rec_friend.asp

Anyone (an account holder I assume) who recommends someone gets a free gift (£25 cash etc.) and the recommended friend gets 20% off their first order. Therefore the TVs are still available at £720 which is the cheapest anywhere.

So anyone an account holder here? Want to earn loads of money gifts? Start recommending people - this seems to me to be totally legit and is according to Freemans own T&Cs so they shouildn't be able to back out of it (did anyone ever find out where those 25% codes came from?)

Two further points:

1. Is Freemans online ordering system the worst in the world ever ever or what? Professional looking site. Totally amateur ordering system with, it appears, only one email account in the whole company. I wonder if Sarah Gibbs actually exists?

2. Will the Samsung LCDs, if successfully ordered, turn up before the World Cup?

After being denied the 25% ordered on 24th Jan, i ordered the 32" again last night.
The 20% new customer is on the website again, it automatically applied at 20% on checkout and i got a print out at £720. Paid by CC, 12 days estimated delivery now.

Can't see that they'll cancel this..it follows all published T+C's. There's a post on Rpoints that states the first customer order has a £500 limit.....but I'm assuming that's for credit account holders....if i've paid the lot in one go surely that limit doesnt apply? Anyway...will wait and see.
• I'm thinking of buying one for my mum aswell as one for myself.

Will the 20% discount apply to both items? i.e. 20% off first order or is it first item?

First order, if your first order is for 2 then 20% off both

It has no upper limit, the £500 is just what they normally give account customers. As you have paid by ccard you are entitled to the discount whatever the amount (see their faq on their website - only mentions a lower bound not upper bound).

When i ordered mine by card using the 20% off the salesperson even said well done! :)
• Can you still get 20% off for being a new customer? The picture on the home page showing the 20% offer has been replaced by a Valentine's one!
Does this mean the offer has completely gone or if I call will they give me the discount?

Thanks,

Brian

A couple of posts have had to be removed from this thread because posting discount codes on Grabbit isn't permitted. Please see the relevant rule mentioned below. Thanks.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: For legal reasons codes are not permitted on the Grabbit board and have been moved. If in doubt please read this and this for an explanation. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com
