--- I have little doubt that freemans would honour the contract rather than incur the costs associated with fighting these cases. Remember you have to have formed a contract before you are able to sue.

You may want to take into account the cost of taking this to the small claims court is £150. So be sure you have a water tight case.

Actually the costs are as follows:

    Amount claimed Court Fee
    up to £300 £30
    up to £500 £50
    up to £1,000 £80
    up to £5,000 £120

The £150 you are talking about are for 'non-monetary' claims. :money:

Yes I know Sui_Generis was referring to suing freemans to honour the contract, not for money, at least that is how I read the post.

You may also want to bear in mind that this thread and others will be evidential in any defence. Any litigant may be positioned by the defence as a "chancer", or even a vexatious litigant - if you get costs awarded against you then you won't be able to buy any bargains for quite some time:eek:

Small claims is there to protect and empower the individual but make sure your claim is watertight!

Just to let you all know I too was declined a 30% off immediatly, then had a 20% accepted and processed and awaiting delivery. Phone to ask when and they said it had been cancelled. still had no written confirmation from then but have sent all my correspondence to trading standards and they replied

"There has been a possible criminal offence committed if the trader has used misleading advertising and the Trading Standards in your area will be made aware of this."

My local TS asked if they could pass the info on to the national TS because Freemans are such a big company, of course I said YES. The guy I was dealing with me couldn't believe there was no asterisk on the 30% screen grab I had and also thought it was quite amazing that the 20% banner had an image of a mobile phone on it.
    Watch this space.
I suggest many more people should do this and at least if we don't get our TV's Freemans will get a hefty fine for being stupid, arrogant and rude.

I copied all my correspondence with TS to CS at Freemans and shall sit tight now.

Why not just tell us how to get it cheaper?
We already know about the DREP code, is there a better code?
