At Last - my 26 inch with integrated digital arrived on Friday - I ordered 20th March, so it has been a fairly long wait - invoice said £480 as I just had the 20% off, brilliant.
Hee hee, I'm happy now...:j0 -
If tescos hadnt declined my card i would have got the new 32" samsung.
Because i had to involve freemans customer call centre not only did they send me the wrong tv but they sent out the tv at full price even though they confirmed the discount on the phone.
The cs person even had the cheak to lie by saying it was only for new account customers only. I mentioned that they only give a £500 credit limit and you couldnt therefore get this tv then. all she replied was yes they start the limit low but you can build it up.
not much use for new customers then.
I suppose i should be lucky that i got one with the discount, but i did want the newer version but hey they just wouldnt exchange it but they would have been quite happy to send the replacement at full price.
umm yes let me think about that......
so close yet so far
the code no longer works for me so there must be a fix in place nevermind."Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0 -
Sorry to hear. I'd just forget about it and wait a little while more if I were you. New models with better specs come out quickly all the time and prices will drop eventually.0

My wife has just taken a call from Freemans Customer Services (0845 600 4243). The order was:
Sent: 27 March 2006 12:00
26 ins - Samsung IDTV LCD Cat No. 38C319TY
QTY: 1
Price: 599.99 Status: Delivery in 15 days
I called customer services back (~ five minutes ago). They have new stock in, and wanted to advise me that my newly arranged customer account has been authorised with only a £250 credit limit... so the £599.99 has to be paid in some other way.
I mentioned that I was expecting a 20% discount off my order. She asked if I had put in a code. I said that as I hit the Freemans website from a search-engine the splash page had a big picture saying "20% off for new customers". I followed that link and there was a discount code applied to my order. She put me on hold... and after ~30 seconds came back and said that the code has been applied and apologised for her mistake. She even advised me that my original receipt does indeed have a "generic new customer code" applied already!
I asked if I could phone back later tonight to confirm debit card / VISA payment and the very nice lady said that was no problem --- it is on hold for three days for me.
Now I just have to explain to the wife why we need to spend £480 to replace our 26-inch monster 10-year-old bedrooom telly with a tarty new 26-inch IDTV LCD... Hummmm....0 -
same here, I had a 26" on order since March and got a call today to tell me I hadn't been given enough credit. Even though, back in March they confirmed that I had an account set up with sufficient credit. I was told I had an extremely 'generous' £100 credit limit. So i offered to pay the balance by credit card. There is no way my credit card co would refuse this transaction so if i get a call indicating that, I will know it is a ploy not to supply the TV under the discount code. I used the original 20% off for new customers code, so i am now waiting with baited breath!0

Has anyone noticed they've added that the tv's are non-returnable once opened.
Certain goods are not supplied on our usual approval terms. These items are clearly shown in the catalogue and online by this logo For most items, the law gives you seven working days after the day on which you received your goods to change your mind and cancel your order. There are some exceptions to this, including:
Goods made to your own specification (for example, monogrammed items or made-to-measure curtains)
Goods which, by reason of their nature, cannot be returned or are likely to deteriorate rapidly
Sealed audio or video recordings or computer software that you have opened
Your statutory rights are not affected.
I ordered the 26" older version on 22nd April and got a letter 2 weeks later apologising for the delay but it did show the 30% discount. It's been showing in stock on the freemans website since Friday but I haven't recieved anything yet. Any ideas what's happening?
Also still not being tracked by Quidco so I've had to start a query.0 -

No they haven'tThey are talking about cd's and dvd's, I presume to stop people copying them. You are hardly likely to get a tv and decide to keep it without taking it out of box

just got off the phone with customer services. they've told me my order has been cancelled as i used the 30% discount code and that isn't valid for electrical items. they say i should have been emailed about it, but that definitely hasn't happened. the woman said she's taken loads of calls like this one, and apparently most people haven't receieved an email either. she suggests i write to the customer services manager to complain. great. i ordered the tv two weeks ago, had confirmation emails and called freemans since to check when delivery would be. it's only now that i'm told i can't have the discount. seems like plenty of people here managed to get the discount though. any ideas how i should go about fighting this?0

You won't win. It clearly states in t&c's code not valid on electrical items. As somebody previously stated after speaking to Trading Standards, if no money taken from you there is no cotract.
Even if they did it is clearly stated in t&c's, so doubt you have a hope.
Not being funny just realistic, I had 32" which I sent back in hope of getting newer version and am also gutted I won't get it...but I am accepting it, maybe you should too.0
