she suggests i write to the customer services manager to complain.

they will give you a generic letter and a 10% off coupon. waste of time.
if you're going to write to anyone, write to their industry bodies :
    Mail Order Traders Association (mark.hogarth@mota.org.uk)
Interactive media in retail group (ISIS@imrg.org)

I recieved a letter through the post today (10th may) after trying to order the 26" tv

......"The code used was only provided to selected individuals for use with their first order, therefore your order did not qualify for this discount.

Consequently your order has now been cancelled.".....

its taken them 3 weeks after confirming the order to get to this point, so I assume they are looking very closely at all the backlogged 26" orders placed :-<

No they haven't  They are talking about cd's and dvd's, I presume to stop people copying them. You are hardly likely to get a tv and decide to keep it without taking it out of box

    Yes they have. Check this

You can't return the tellies once opened (unless faulty of course)

Just got off the phone from Freemans, as I've ordered using the 30% code on a new mattress. And have been told that "all" order using the 30% code will be cancelled as they are not a code issued by Freemans.

This is a complete joke for the firm to confirm the order and yet cancelling to get out of it... oh well

That NR was not there when I ordered my TV - I wonderif loads of people have been returning them as they either didn't get the discount or wanted to try for the newer model?

maybe we should all join together and demand that we get our electrical items with the discount! What have we got to loose??? I thought my order had gone through, but I phoned today and it had been caneclled without notice! I think a potition to Trading standards may get us noticed?!? Wot do u all think?

I ordered a gas cooker a couple of weeks ago and it came with the discount.
Returning it for an electric instead and was told a note would be on my account so i can get the discount for the electric cooker.
Hope they still honour it. After reading these i doubt it now.

Yes you can return them , the distance selling regulations give you 7 days to cancel your order and to inspect the goods which means opening them, Freemans can insist that you pay for collection under this rule if they wish.
