I got an immediate reply from them over this and I believe they have had so many complaints about Freemans that the Yorks+Humberside head of CD has spent the afternoon "talking" to Freemans.

Thanks I have attempted this too, got a confirmation number straight away..

Will let you know the outcome..

    Crosses fingers!

i originally tried to use the %20 off code but that was cancelled like everyone elses.however someone from freemans rang up and said i could have the updated samsung model le26r73bd for the price of the LE26R41BD but with no further discount ie £600 instead of £800.this is the cheapest i have found this model anywhere on the web or in store so have ordered it.allegadly they have 500 and delivery is 3-5 days.

I would not reccommend you email them, they tend to take their time responding to emails i have found in the past.

Hope it works out ok for you. :-)

Got a call from this the very next morning, excellent service I must say!

The person I spoke with said that this looks like a misleading offer which if it is, is indeed as mentioned before a Criminal act and my complaint will be passed onto Trading Standards.

So, I hope it's going to end up a one up for the consumer instead of a giant company thinking they can get away with anything they desire.

    Update: Busy day today :)

Just got off the phone to a very professional and efficient Trading Standards guy who had confirmed I should be receiving a call from Freemans within the next 7 days to organize delivery of my television!

Hoorah for Trading Standards and Consumer Direct!

However I am still going to write an official complaint to Freemans via Grattans with my experiences in the hope this does not happen to others in the future, as I am utterly shocked to how I have been treated by Freemans customer services.

Don't waste your time I have written twice to Mike Hancox the Freemans Chief Executive, receiving by return the standard letter "terms and conditions etc" from customer services but as soon as I contacted trading standards I am getting my TV. Let's face it, if the chief executive doesn't give a toss what hope have you got.

By the way, hands up all of you who think that Sarah Gibbs is a real person. If she is she has been very busy over the past few weeks.

It's just arrived. Looks very very nice. Just trying to work out how to tune it in. Sky Plus code (if anyone needs it) is 646. :D

I made a complaint to consumer direct on the internet and over the phone and emailed a complaint to west yorkshire trading standards.
All I recieved was a call from consumer direct consumer advice line and local trading standards who said they couldn't do anything but both people said my complaint would be forwarded to the trading standards offices in the region of the retailer.
Am I the only one not recieved a phone call aboutwhen my TV should be coming. Please help.

Just got this email reply from consumer direct.

Thank you for contacting Consumer Direct, please make a note of your
case reference number SC 270697, which you should quote in any future
    correspondence.

Based on the information given the contract would not be made until the
goods were despatched therefore if the trader will not supply the full
goods for the price quoted then they would be within their rights not to
however I will refer the details through to Trading Standards for the
advertising to be looked into to establish any criminal breaches of
    legislation.

If you do not want to accept the goods as they are then you would be
    within your rights to cancel.
