Hi I have still recieved no call from West yorkshire trading standards about my complaint I did an online complaint on the 19th May through consumer direct online website. I also emailed West yorkshire trading standards directly. Zelnik had such a fast turnaround time in the fact TS phoned them so quickly I have now been waiting over a week I did stress the misleading nature of the freemans offer at the end of the email and how customer services had messed me around in the body of the email with no notification of order status. Please Help getting very upset now near tears
:happylove0 -
I originally used the Essentials 25% code, but at the order confirmation screen only 20% was AUTOMATICALLY deducted from the price!!!
When I emailed Freemans to tell them this was rather misleading, they then informed me I had used an invalid code and my order had not been processed.
Several emails later - and complaining to consumer direct- finally got a call from Freemans offering to re-instate my order, but with only 20% discount.
Apparantly the Essentials range should only be clothing.
Need the TV so took their offer, still happy to get 20% rather than nowt!

I complained to both the west yorkshire and my local trading standards department.
I heard from my local trading standards very quickly, heard nothing at all from west yorkshire.
I suggest you put in a complaint to your local TS and see what happens and also put in a complaint with consumer direct.
Tell them you are unhappy with the misleading discount offer code and it says clearly 'OFF EVERYTHING' with no mention of exemptions or * referring to T&C.
Tell them the code went thru fine, the order was discounted and you awaited delivery, to then have you order cancelled without them even telling you. etc etc0 -
As fear it now looks like it's a no go..
Had a call from W.Yorkshire TS and Freemans will no longer be honouring deals as the "discount code was sent to specific new customers only"
Looks like a few of the first complaints snuck in before Freemans legal team came up with this response..
Congrats to the people who got their TV's via the TS complaint, looks to me like i'll be watching the worldcup on my old TV then0 -
