why , were at the end of contract , besides he has not upheld his end of contract , and bring it on !!
its says that the letting agent will complete all repairs in a minimal amount of time and with mininmum fuss
and so far we have been waiting 6 months for front light to be fixed 5 months for electrics in bathroom to be sorted , and now 8 weeks for the washing machine ...
If you leave on the last day of your fixed term then that is fine, you will only be liable for the rent that you withold. If you stay even a single day beyond the end of that fixed term you will be liable for an additional months rent as well as what ever you have witheld. This will be taken from your deposit and the remainder via court (should the LL be bothered). The fact that you feel a certain amount of indignation regarding the broken machine doesnt justify what you are proposing and wont help you with the TDS scheme (assuming your deposits in one) or any court claim.0 -
as i say bring it .. im leaving and i will not pay for a month where i havent had the property at the standard it should have been , if they want to take me to court let them ,
the deposit is protected and as far as i concerned he can keep it ,

Oh well seems a costly choice for a broken door! But as I said previously There is always a price to pay for our principles, which is unfortunate.0 -
if it was a broken door it would have been fixed by now...
besides isnt costing me anything

Apoligies, from your first post I inferred that it was a door problem;
the washing machine broke about 8 weeks ago its says theres a door error, they came to look at it 3 days later , apparenlt door mechanis was broke so off he went to order one.
Never the less it is still only a problem with a washing machine and what you propose is wholly out of porpotion to the scale of the reported problem.
And your last sentance of the quote above would be more realistic if it read;
"besides isnt costing me anything, YET!"0 -

Most Landlords are just money grabbing scum and would gladly let you live in absolute squalor if they could get away with it (some do!) Only thing that moves these people is money so just say you will deduct the money of getting it fixed off the rent and hey presto he will get it fixed!0
